Alpha Killian's Rejected Luna

Chapter 7
Adeline Wes:
I stared at him, holding my breath, waiting for his reaction. For moment, shock crossed his face, quickly replaced by anger and disappointment. His jaw clenched, and his fists tightened, his knuckles turning white. The sight of his reaction sent a painful clench through my heart.
“I knew it,” I murmured, my voice breaking.
Spinning around. I walked away, unable to bear the ache in my chest any longer. Tears blurred my vision as I rushed to my room, slamming the door shut behind me. I collapsed onto the bed, crying my eyes out. The weight of his rejection felt unbearable, but I knew I couldn’t let it consume me.
I told you what his reaction would belt See! I said to my wolf, Kunja,
Don’t cry, Adeline. Please. She replied, her voice filled with concern and pain
“Fine,” I whispered to myself through my sobs. “Let him love Laurel. I’ll fight for my place and for his affection. He married me, and he’s my mate, the one the Moon Goddess chose for me.
Yes, we shouldn’t just give up. Do you remember all the dreams you had? The dreams of living with your mate and building your life. You can’t just give up so soon and so easily. Adeline, fight for your place.

My wolf kept telling me and encouraging me.
I wouldn’t let his coldness break me. With th
that thought in my mind, I hurried out of the mansion to work. I was waiting for the cab at the roadside for an hour. When it didn’t come, I decided to cross the road and wait for the bus at the bus stand. I was lost in my thoughts, my mind a whirl of determination and heartache, when a car suddenly appeared out of nowhere, almost hitting me.
I stumbled and fell to the ground, my heart pounding in my chest. The car door opened, and a tall man dressed in a black suit rushed towards me. I groaned in pain as I hurt my knees. He helped me up, his strong hands gentle yet firm, guiding me to a nearby bench
“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice rich and deep with concern.
As I looked up at him, I was struck by his features. Brown hair with a strand of curls fell onto his forehead, moving with every movement. His hazel eyes were sharp; he had a sharp nose and full lips; and his jawline was strong. A tattoo peeked from the left side of his neck, and the upper buttons of his black shirt were open, revealing a thick gold chain with a moon. pendant resting against his muscular chest.
He’s so handsome. I murmured in my head.
ur mate is more handsome. Runa quickly commented
Yes, but our
Oh!Please! 1 responded.
I don’t want to think about him
“Thank you,” I managed to say, my voice shaking, “1–I’m okay, just a bit shaken.”
He nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. “Be more careful,” he advised softly. “The city can be dangerous.”
Toodded. “I will. Thank you again
As I sat on the bench, still shaken from the near accident, the handsome stranger introduced himself. “I’m Sebastian Cooper,” he said with a warm smile, extending his hand.

“Adeline,” I replied, taking his hand. His grip was firm yet gentle and his presence was calming
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked, concern evident in his hazel eyes.
“Yes, thank you, Mr. Cooper. I’m fine, I reassured him, though my heart was still racing

“You can call me Sebastian.” He said, with a small smile on his ligh. “Where are you headed? Maybe I can give you a ride?” he offered, glancing at the busy road.
“Oh. I’ll manage. Really, it’s okay,” I said.
“I’d feel better knowing you got there safely. Please, let me help. He insisted, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Reluctantly. I agreed, and he led me to his sleek black car.
As I settled into the passenger seat of Sebastian’s sleek black car, I felt a mix of nerves and gratitude. The interior was luxurious, smelling faintly of leather and cologne. Sebastian started the engine, and the soft hum filled the car as he drove
away:
“So. Adeline, where am Leaking you?” He asked, his tone warm and genuinely curious.
“To the Volkov buildings,” I replied, glancing at him.
He nodded, navigating the busy streets with ease. “Volkov, huh? What do you do there?”
“I work as an assistant there” I offered a small smile..
Sebastian glanced at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road. “It must be pretty demanding working there. Do you enjoy it?”
I hesitated, not wanting to delve into the complexities of my life. It has its moments,” I said carefully. “Some days are harder than others.”
“I can imagine,” he said sympathetically. “But you seem like someone who can handle a challenge.”
“I hope so,” I replied softly, looking out the window as the city passed by.
“Do you live far from here?” he asked, steering the conversation in a different direction.
“Not too far.” I said, keeping my answers vague.
“Good to know,” he said with a smile. “Long distance can be a real drag. So, what do you like to do when you’re not working?”
I thought for a moment, realizing how little I did outside of work and dealing with my complicated life. “I enjoy reading.” I said. “And cooking, when I have the time.”
“Nice,” Sebastian said, his eyes lighting up. “What kind of books do you like?”
“Mostly fiction. It’s nice to escape into another world for a while, I admitted
“I get that,” he said. “I’m more of a history buff myself, but I can appreciate a good novel.”
We fell into a comfortable silence, and I felt a strange sense of calm in his presence. There was something about him that made me feel at ease, despite the chaos of my life.
As we approached the Volkov buildings, Sebastian slowed the car and pulled up to the entrance. “Here we are,” he said. turning to look at me. With a smile on his lips and hazel eyes, warm and understanding. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
