Chapter 161
Everything finally came to light, and the three people were taken away by the police. The robotics competition continued. Due to some inappropriate comments made by one of the judges, the organizers disqualified him, and the remaining judges carried on with the scoring. After two hours, the competition ended. Cynthia and her team met expectations and won first place. As they stepped off the stage with their trophy, some investors were already approaching them for partnerships, but Cynthia turned them all down. They returned to Sullivan Group with the trophy and went straight to the CEO’s office.
Meanwhile, Liam was working on some documents, holding a pen and occasionally signing his name on the papers. When he looked up and saw Cynthia and the others, he smiled slightly. “I knew you could do it.” Their eyes met, and they saw trust in each other’s gaze. “Shouldn’t we start preparing to launch the robot now? A lot of people approached us today wanting to collaborate,” Cynthia suggested. Liam replied calmly, “No rush, I have new plans for this project.” Then, he looked at Beck and the others and said, “You’ve worked hard during this time. Go back and rest.
“Yes, Mr. Sullivan.” They nodded. Before leaving, Beck looked at the trophy in his hand, then glanced at Cynthia questioningly.

Seeing Cynthia’s insistence, they didn’t argue further. After they left, Liam suddenly put away the documents in front of him. He stared at Cynthia, opened his arms, and said, “Come here.” Cynthia knew what Liam wanted but still obediently went over. Sitting on Liam’s lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck and softly said, “Why don’t you take advantage of the competition’s momentum and push the robot project forward?” Liam hugged Cynthia tighter and kissed her hair. “Even if we start production now, it will take some time. No rush.”
Liam then changed the subject, “Your birthday is in two days. Do you have any wishes?” Cynthia glanced at the calendar on the desk and saw that her birthday was specially marked. Her eyes sparkled; it felt good to be remembered. Although they hadn’t been married for long, everything that had happened recently made her feel as if they had been together for a long time. Thinking of the reason they got married, Cynthia’s gaze turned cold. She said seriously, “I might be very busy on my birthday this year. Mason has been holding onto my mother’s company for years; he won’t give it up until the last moment. The deadline is my birthday, and I must get my mother’s shares back.”
Liam listened and softly replied, “All right. I’ll help you.”
Although she had the ability to get the shares back herself, hearing someone so firmly on her side moved Cynthia deeply. She pressed her face against Liam’s chest, feeling his strong heartbeat. Suddenly, Liam leaned down and whispered hoarsely in Cynthia’s ear, “I’m feeling empty.” Cynthia frowned, thinking, ‘Did he skip breakfast?‘ She had left early that morning, so they hadn’t eaten together. Cynthia tried to get up and said, “Let me go get you some food.”
Liam chuckled softly in her ear, and Cynthia looked up with confusion on her face. Then, she saw his intense gaze. He guided her hand to a certain spol. “How are you still so innocent after being with me for so long? This is where I feel empty.” Cynthia’s face turned bright red, and she instinctively glanced at the surveillance cameras. She had been watching the cameras a lot lately and felt like these embarrassing moments might be seen by someone. She pulled her hand away from that spot and scolded, “Not everyone is as perverted as you, you old rogue.” But her words lacked the sternness she intended. Upon hearing that, Liam laughed louder, his chest shaking with amusement.
“Technically, we’re married. My home is your home. So you, as the lady of the house, shouldn’t be so naive. Now, let me, as your husband, teach you about our family traditions.” With that, he lifted Cynthia. The sudden lift made Cynthia cling tightly to Liam’s neck to keep from falling. “You’re still working,” Cynthia said, tugging at Liam’s collar. “I decide my working hours,” Liam said firmly as he walked toward the lounge. Once inside, he carried Cynthia into the bathroom. The restroom in the lounge had no bathtub, so Cynthia stood on the floor as Liam pressed against her. His lips were soft with a hint of sweetness, and Cynthia naturally wrapped her arms around his waist, tilting her head to meet his kiss.
Cynthia’s schedule had been hectic with the competition preparations the past few days, and even if Liam had wanted to, they had only managed quick encounters. Now that the competition was over, Liam was determined to make up for lost time. Cynthia’s body melted under his kisses; she seemed particularly sensitive to this sort of thing, and Liam’s slightest touch could set her on fire. He adored her flushed skin. Cynthia’s hands involuntarily wandered over his back while Liam, his body tensed, raised his head in satisfaction. He said, “Cynthia, do you know? You’re incredibly attractive right now.”
“Uh, Cynthia only managed to murmur, and her body felt weak. It sounded almost wet. Liam’s muscles were taut with effort as he lifted her onto the sink and used the showerhead to wash her. They moved from the bathroom to the bedroom. As the end of the workday approached, Liam finally got up, satisfied. He carried the drowsy Cynthia back to the bathroom for a quick clean–up before laying her on the bed to rest. Then, he took clothes from the closet and got dressed.
As Liam was about to leave, Cynthia struggled to open her eyes and asked in a hoarse voice, “Aren’t you going to rest for a while?” Liam stopped and looked back. He smiled as he replied, “I can’t. I have a wife now. Besides satisfying her every day, I have to make more money for her to spend. That way, she won’t leave me for someone else.” After the past few hours, Cynthia understood exactly what he meant by “satisfy.” She threw a pillow at his handsome face, gritted her teeth, and grumbled, “You’re impossible.” Then, she pulled the blanket over her head, ignoring him. She heard Liam laugh heartily before he left the room.
