People could lie with their words, but their eyes usually reveal the truth. Selma didn’t believe that Millie truly didn’t love Winston anymore.
Millie looked up and saw Gloria and Selma staring at her intensely. She fixed her gaze on Selma and said sincerely, “Grandma, I truly don’t love Winston anymore.”
The office doorknob turned, and the door swung open. Winston stood in the doorway, gazing calmly at Millie. Her words from moments ago echoed in his ears.
