She's Out of Your League Now

Chapter 201
“Millle, we’re working at the outpatient clinic today,” Lainey informed.

Suddenly, Joanna stepped forward and asked, “Dr. Quinn, could you bring me along?”

Lainey was surprised to see Joanna coming along, as she typically wouldn’t join them.
“Sure. Then the two of you can go together,” Lainey replied indifferently. One more person wouldn’t make any difference to her.
“Why are you a
always following me? It’s so hard to shake you off,” Millle whispered sharply to Joanna.
“I started working at the Cardiac Surgery Department first. You’re the one who should stop following me,” Joanna retorted sarcastically.
“Joanna, I strongly advise you to keep a low profile. Don’t forget whose spot you took to get into medical school,” Millie threatened.
Joanna was stunned.
Millie added, “If you keep pushing me, I’ll make sure your qualifications are worthless.”
“Are you threatening me?” Joanna asked furiously.
“It’s great that you caught on,” Millie replied with a sweet smile. “I thought you were too much of a fool to realize that I was threatening you.”
Joanna’s face turned red with anger. “Millie Caldwell!”
Lainey glared at them. “Enough arguing! Are you two planning to go or not?”
Millie and Joanna instantly fell silent. Yoel approached from behind, glancing at them.
“Dr. Marshall,” Millie greeted.
Yoel remained silent. He simply raised his eyebrows before walking into the office. Joanna watched him. leave, feeling disdainful. He always acted superior, as if he were better than everyone else.
At noon, Millie bought a few gifts and headed to visit Patrick. When she entered the ward, Patrick smiled. at her and closed the document he was holding. “Millie
Millie nodded in response. “Mr. Harrison, how are you feeling today?”
“I feel much better, but it seems my health is deteriorating each day. I feel old and useless,” he said helplessly.
Millie remembered Simon’s words from the night before, and a wave of sadness washed over her. He had mentioned that Patrick was the only family he had left.
Millie approached and asked softly, “Mr. Harrison, may check your pulse?”
“Of course,” he said and extended his arm.
Millie sat and gently checked his pulse.

Patrick couldn’t help but glance at Millie. Despite what everyone said about her being a waste, he couldn’t understand how she could be considered as such. Rumors were often false and unbelievable.
Millie frowned, her expression filled with concern. “You’re still weak, and your liver is a cause for concern. Mr. Harrison, you must remain calm at all times.”
Millie asked, “How about I get you some herbal medicine for your health?”
Patrick was surprised. “You can prescribe herbal medicine too?”
Millie nodded, replying gently, “I learned traditional medicine from my grandma when I was a child. I can help you with the treatment if you trust my medical skills.”
“Alright. Thank you, Millie.” Patrick found himself admiring Millle even more.
He couldn’t help but think how remarkable the Caldwell family must be to have raised such an
outstanding person. If Simon were ever fortunate enough to marry a woman as extraordinary as Millie, he would truly be happy and content.
“Mr. Harrison, I’ve spoken to your attending doctor. He advised you to stay in the hospital for a few more days. I understand that Simon is very busy, so here’s my contact information. If you have any issues and can’t reach Simon, please don’t hesitate to call me,” Millie said, giving him her phone number.
She added kindly, “I work on this floor. You can reach out to me anytime. As long as I’m not in the operating room, I can come by.”
Patrick was very grateful and thanked her repeatedly. Millie shook her head, reassuring him that it was no trouble at all. After exchanging a few pleasantries, she left.
Patrick texted Simon, “Millie is a great woman. You need to put in more effort.”
Millie headed downstairs to retrieve something. As she passed by the emergency department, she saw someone being rushed in, accompanied by a group of prison guards and police officers.
