His Untamed Savage Bride

Chapter 57
Lenore’s voice cut through the tension like a knife with a hint of arrogance and defiance.
Carlos’s fists clenched so tight that the bones creaked. With his bloodshot eyes glaring, he spat out through gritted teeth, “Screw you!”
He’d been a sure bet to win, never accounting for the sting of defeat, let alone a crushing one. Her mocking words tipped Carlos over the edge. With a curse, he swung his fist at Lenore’s face.
Lenore scoffed, moving only when the punch was inches away. She grabbed Carlos’s arm, yanked it back, and spun behind him, kicking the back of his knees. With a pained thud, Carlos hit the ground on both knees.
Lenore twisted his arm behind his back, her foot pressed into his spine, and her eyes narrowed coldly. “Apologize!”
The pain from his wrist shot through Carlos’s body, contorting his face. But Lenore’s grip was ironclad. He clenched his teeth, refusing to give in.
Lenore applied more pressure, and amidst Carlos’s screams, she calmly said, “I don’t have time for games. Last chance, apologize.”
The oppressive aura above him was suffocating. Carlos felt a chilling premonition that if he didn’t give in, he might not make it out alive.

Through the searing pain in his arm, Carlos endured the disgrace and said through gritted teeth, “I… I’m sorry…”
Lenore raised an eyebrow. “And?”
Carlos added, “I was wrong!”
With a derisive snort, Lenore released him, straightened her clothes that had been ruffled by the wind and sauntered toward Silas and the others with her hands in her pockets.
Lethe skipped over, her purple hair in pigtails swinging, and she offered a lollipop with a wink. “You went easy on him, didn’t you?”
She knew better; Lenore hadn’t even used her full strength today.
Ignoring the lollipop and the comment, Lenore simply said, “Take the bike back, and I’ll tune yours next month.”
Lethe had come just to drop off the motorcycle, which was originally Lenore’s, but that didn’t stop her from taking advantage of the situation to get
a favor.
When Lenore made the promise, Lethe’s eyes lit up. “Got it, boss. Have a great night, and I’ll see myself out.”

Wayne’s charming eyes twinkled with admiration for Lenore, his gaze intense. “Lenore, can you tune a car for me, too? Name your price!”
‘That bike was so cool! But Lenore was the coolest of all! If it weren’t for Prince Silas being here, I’d not only get her to tune a car, I’d take her home!‘ Wayne thought to himself.
As the night darkened completely, the clouds cleared, and a cool autumn wind carried a hint of moisture. Soon, it started to rain.
Lenore had a skimpy outfit, and remembering the cold touch of her hand earlier, Silas took off his coat and draped it over her, asking, “Shall we head back?” The scent of sandalwood on his coat was strong but not overpowering.
For once, Lenore didn’t object to someone else’s belongings, pulling the coat around her slightly and smirking arrogantly. “Let’s go to the Duncan residence; after all, there’s no rest while the debts are unpaid.”
Silas raised an eyebrow, glanced at Carlos still crawling on the ground not far away, and kicked Chuck, who had returned, lightly. “Go collect the debts.”
Chuck understood immediately and headed toward the bookies.
Silas then kicked Wayne. “Drive.”
Wayne, feeling like he was being conscripted as a driver again, gritted his teeth, thinking that Silas not making him collect the debts was a form of affection. With the hope that Lenore would tune his car, he resigned himself to being the driver.
The Porsche Cayenne slowly left the junkyard. With one of the racers gone and the red motorcycle taken away, everyone in the junkyard snapped back to reality.

Chapter 57
“Damn, Carlos lost!” someone muttered.
“It’s more than losing; on his own turf, using dirty tricks, and still getting crushed. That’s some serious humiliation,” another added.
“Carlos has always been arrogant, relying on the Duncan family. Never thought he’d see a day like this….” a third chimed in.
“I feel like I just watched a circus act…” someone else remarked.
“Speaking of which, what’s the story about that girl who raced him? Those driving skills. No ordinary pro could match…” another voice wondered aloud.
“I heard she’s a high school student who somehow crossed paths with Carlos, and here they are, having a race,” the last one concluded.
