Chuck went over to check the car. Even though it could handle anywhere–from mountains to oceans–it had never gone so fast before. Wayne rushed over to Silas, his eyes filled with questions. “What happened?”
Silas stared at Lenore in silence, leaving Wayne anxious. “Aren’t you going to say something?”
Silas had wanted to lend a hand but hadn’t found a chance. Finally turning to Wayne with a hint of a smile, Silas replied, “If someone’s being a pain, just beat them until they behave.”
Wayne was confused. “What?”
Lenore handed both the guy and the car over to Ken, her delicate features showing a defiant attitude. “I hit him.”
The man on the ground looked up, a bruise on his face and her footprints visible on his chest. Tears welled in his eyes, making him appear pitiful. Ken sighed in relief. “As long as you’re okay”

Even at a standstill, Silas had an intense and suffocating presence making Ken hesitate further.
Silas smiled and turned to Lenore. “Ms. Smedley?”
Lenore shot Ken a look that was both delicate and icy. “You handle this first,” she said, clearly opting for Silas.
Silas smirked and walked over to the Porsche Cayenne, smoothly opening the rear door.
Chuck’s eyebrows shot up. ‘Is this really the same reserved Mr. Faulkner we know back home?’ he wondered.
As the Porsche Cayenne drove away, the young man who had been speeding and flying past barricades finally let out a sigh of relief. Sitting in the police car, he clutched his throbbing face, feeling incredibly wronged.
“Are you traffic cops out of your minds? So what if I modified my car and raced? You acted like lunatics–beating me and
face. My hand’s broken,” he said, feeling the experience would haunt him for life.

“Shut up.” A young traffic cop rolled his eyes. If they hadn’t dodged quickly, they’d either be crippled or dead.
“Mr. Sharpe.” In another car, an older cop still looked shocked. Ms. Smedley really that wild? I’ve heard she’s fierce, but this is next level.”
Ken pressed his lips together, staying quiet. He understood why Lenore was so emotional. Three years ago, believed that if she had been just a bit faster, Ken’s daughter wouldn’t have died.

Inside the Porsche Cayenne, Lenore settled into a comfortable spot. She lounged lazily with one earbud in and started playing games. Her expression remained cold and restless, exuding an aura of danger even as her fingers moved skillfully.
Noticing she was in a bad mood, Silas drummed his fingers thoughtfully on his knee and said casually. “You know, unless you’re an adult, it’s better not to drive.”
Lenore glanced up at him but didn’t respond.
Wayne, sitting in the passenger seat, couldn’t resist turning around, eyes glinting with mischief. “Wow, you can fight too, huh?”
