Chapter 62
“My back!” I whimpered slightly when I moved a little bit, but I knew I’d be fine once my pain was numbed.
“Ok…” the doctor quickly made his presence known again as he walked back in with a surgical tray full of equipment. “This is going to hurt, I need to uncover your wounds in order to administer the anesthetic.”
I swallowed thickly and clenched my fists into a ball, which caused tension and pain in my burnt forearms. I began to feel the doctor peel the sheet off my back and cried at the torment it brought. I tried to stay quiet but it wasn’t really working.
“Oh my goddess!” The Beta was quick to look away once the wounds were uncovered, it must have been extremely grotesque for him to have that reaction. I didn’t even want to know what it looked like. All I knew is that my back was damaged beyond repair, and the scar tissue that will be left will be excessive.
I felt a huge stinging sensation and then very quickly the pain I was feeling was gone, I must have been given an injection.
“I’m going to have to restitch some of these as you’ve pulled the ones from yesterday, you also need a lot of rest, the damage to your skin is excessive.” He got to work quickly, I could feel a lot of tugging and pushing which made me believe I needed more stitches than I originally thought.
Now that my back was completely numb the pain in my arms seemed to radiate ten fold. I was unsure weather I should tell the doctor or not, in all honesty I seem to just be radiating agony. Of course I didn’t want say anything that would cause me more strife, however the doctor currently helping me was already a step ahead, it was almost as if he read my crumbling mind.
“Lewis, those bandages on the tray are for her burns, can you soak them in that Gel and remove her old ones for me.” The doctor began to order lewis while I just lay there unmoving. I watched him take the rolled up bandages and place them in a metal bowl, I assume it’s some form of antiseptic gel.
He then began to fiddle with one of my covered arms and I had to suck in my breath to my teeth to prevent
me from shouting out.
“I’m really, sorry about this. Even he seemed to be on the verge of tears as he fiddled, and eventually removed the dressing. My eyes slowly moved to my now uncovered wound and a wince graced my
atures.
The blisters that rested on my arm were horrendous, it did however look cleaner than yesterday. It was crusty and yet had a wet look to it. In all fairness it grossly resembled a burnt pizza.
“Try and not burst any of those blisters, she could get a nasty infection.” Lewis nodded at the doctors words before walking round my bed bound body and beginning to uncover my other arm.
How could someone, how could anyone, be so cruel as to enjoy other peoples misery to this extent.
I mean sure, I laugh when someone falls over, and I couldn’t contain my humor when Freddy got his leg stuck in his crib and the wolves had to come and saw him out. Of course I did get a lashing for the disturbance, but I found some form of humour in it. However this is just torture, plain and simple.
The air that hit my arms was like pure bliss. Having nothing constricting them was lovely, and I relished in it slightly. I sighed when the beta was finished due to the relief but frowned deep at how quiet both men had.

been, it was extremely quiet for a few minutes and you’d be an idiot if you couldn’t sense a drastic change in the atmosphere. They must have been mindlinking, a private conversation between the two of them. Curiosity was eating away at me and so I enquired about it.
“Is something wrong?” A pause met the room and goosebumps formed on my skin as I let the words I really didn’t want to hear sink in.
“The king wishes to see you?!”
