Chapter 117
Nick POV
“So… what can I help you with?” Sheila was obviously on edge at my presence, as we sat down at her dining table, it was a bit of a kick in the teeth really seeing this woman so frightened by me. It’s not like I could actually do anything.
“I need something smuggled in, and you are the only person I know of that can help. Her frown spoke volumes, and panic swept over her features. Maybe it was because the king was actually present in the district at the moment and if she’s caught, then god knows what he would do, or maybe it was because I could tell Arya or Adrian and then she would be publicly punished, or even worse, executed not that I ever would though.
“What?..” she shook her startled appearance away quickly and cleared her throat, then refused to look me in the eye. “Look, I don’t really
know how I can help…” I gave her a flat look that basically told her, that I knew she knew how to get things in. It was silent for a long minute as she studied my features, eventually she let out a small sigh. What is it you are after?”
“A laptop…” I watched her face contort into one of genuine shock. I know it’s going to be a lot more difficult to get than I believe. It means asking around not only this district, but plenty of others too.
“Laptops don’t just grow on trees Nick, you are asking for something impossible. I sighed already knowing that what she spoke was indeed the truth, it was going to be a challenge for everyone involved, but if it meant Dylan could go free, I assumed everyone would be up to the task.
“We don’t just need a laptop, we need a cell phone too… She shook her head and stood up from her sat position in disbelief at my request, I was never going to get her help the way things were going currently. “Dylan would have been able to get them! Yes, I’d lowered the tone by using dylan as a scapegoat, of course my words held some truth to them, Dylan probably would have been able to get a hold of them once upon a time, especially if she knew the importance of the items.
“I’m not Dylan, I’m just trying to keep my head down as much as I can while still medically treating everyone, I have a lot of responsibility to our people. You are an alpha, surely you can just ask the pack to get them for you. She paced the room while ranting to me about the weight on her shoulders, I simply ran my hand through my hair and sighed, this would be impossible.
A small knock brought us out of our interactions and Sheila quickly glanced through the blinds of her house, she let out a small huff and grabbed something off the kitchen counter before her eyes met mine cautiously, Then continued walking to the door.
She let whoever it was in quietly and shut the door behind them, meanwhile I stood up, hoping to eavesdrop slightly, when Tony’s quiet voice sounded through the house. “How many should she take a day?” He asked the doctor who instantly replied to his question with an adamant response.
“I shouldn’t even be giving these to you. Make sure you tell her that she is supposed to take one a day, and that it should be at the same time everyday or they won’t provide the full protection… huh, it must be the pill or some sort of contraception, it sounds very similar to what Dylan had told me she was taking three years ago when we decided to enjoy each others company. These WILL stop her monthly cycle Tony, so when they stop next month, don’t assume she is pregnant, also please tell her to take them for a week before doing anything and make sure to be discreet, if you’re caught you know the consequences. I’ve managed to get you three months supply, if you run out we can try and get some more in but I can’t make any promises.”
So Tony was getting some contraception for someone… at least he’s been smart about it, he was almost as resourceful and outgoing as Dylan, in fact he too had taken his fair share of punishments, he was always a bit more scared of the Lycans than my friend was, but he was also in the same school year as the alpha twins, so I suppose that would be a little daunting.

1 frowned deeply at the boy bowing to me, his body produced a slight tremble which had me genuinely upset, I realized very quickly that he was now afraid of me.
“Tony, you know you don’t have to be formal with me, right?” I could hardly believe what I was witnessing, if he was scared of being caught by me, then other people must be too.
