Chapter 112
Dylan POV
I trembled in fear when the Kings head shot to me after I had grabbed hold of him. His fist tightened around the large whip in his hand and a gulp left me. If this went wrong he could very well use that thing on me, and I knew I couldn’t take another lashing. I really couldn’t.
“Your plan is…really stupid!” I stated shakily then shook my head slightly, I was absolutely terrified of what he would do to me, but after everything Nicks dad had done for my family since I had been gone, I couldn’t stand by and watch him take punishment. I needed to shake some sense back into myself and swallow my fear down, I needed to be brave for everyone watching. Sometimes I do really wish the king would just end my life, instead of tormenting me past the point of no retum.
I sucked in a deep breath and closed my eyes, once I’d opened them once more, I had replaced my fear with something vastly different, fear was no longer a thought as in its place I allowed a certain level of determination to sweep over me. In honesty I was going to start yelling at him, for being a complete asshole, I was going to go ballistic at his crazy self loving attitude and yell my views at him, not giving a damn about the repercussions of my words and actions, but the way he looked at me, was so full of hatred, that something clicked in my mind, and instead all my thoughts tumbled out of my mouth calmly causing cameras and microphones to be pointed directly at me.
“You truly don’t care about us at all…” I stated before I could even
n stop th
the words from leaving my lips. “You are supposed to be the king, the ruler of both lycans and humans, but instead you’re just tyrant, a dictator so hell bent on displaying your authority that you truly don’t care how you rule.” I watched as anger clouded his face as he looked at me shaking. His eyes blurring with a rage so intense it caused me to take a step back.
“Do you really not understand why the rebellion is growing? Do you truly not know Why humans wholeheartedly stand against you? The entire word is sick to death of being pushed around by a king who can not and will not ever accept equality!” Word vomit! I knew exactly what was going to happen to me during my rebellious speech, I knew the punishment that the king had in store for me would render me immobile, it would be bad, and the king wouldn’t care, but I couldn’t stop myself from speaking out, from saying everything that was playing round and round in my mind.
“Do you know the repercussions of taking away our education? Not only is it going to fuel the rebellion ten fold, but it will also mean you will loose more than half of your current work force. Most of the jobs that you are intending to give to children, require the use of educational skills such as math, and science. Not to mention without school humans won’t have the means to learn about the mating process of you wolves. If you insist on forcing us to be with your kind, then the least you could do is provide us with the knowledge of your race!” I ranted on and on and on. Watching as the kings anger grew and grew. I was seriously pushing his temper the more I spoke.
“You’re absolutely delusional if you think we are just going to bow down and accept your unjust decision! School is the only thing we have left, you’ve taken everything, you cannot take this too…” The Kings eyes lit up like a flame as they bored into me, my eyes widened as I realized the extent of what I had said, and that not only had I expressed clear views on his plans, but I did in fact express them live on television, for the entire world to see. People gasped as I stared the king in the eye, and I could faintly hear news anchors describing what was going on.
“We lycans have given you everything, and you appreciate nothing!” He seethed stepping closer to my tense form. My breath hitched as i thought about everything the lycans gave us. Even I had to admit, he was right they had given us everything, the list of things we had received was excessive and included oppression, abuse, pain, permanent scars and kidnap. Oh what wonderful things to be given.
“You’re right! We are so lucky to be beaten to the brink of death. How silly of me to not thank you after every hit I’ve received. That’s the comment that got me a hard punch to the stomach, it made me keel over, clutching my abused stomach and gasping for the breath that was winded out of me, however I forced my legs to stand firm as I looked up at the king who now towered over me. “Thank you, your grace!” I sarcastically replied to the punch that was given to shut me up.
“Kneel before me… Now!” King Josh was at boiling point, his fists were so tight that his knuckles were becoming white. His face closely resembled that of a tomato and if it was possible, I would have sworn then and there that I could see steam coming from his ears. When I made no attempt to move or bow before him he snapped, causing my gasping body to become more ridged.
