Chapter 178

“That’s bullshit. Don’t believe any word that comes out of that witch’s mouth. They just want to use you” Damon uttered after a while of silence while I just frowned.
“You may choose to believe what you want but I speak nothing but the truth. This is your destiny, Luca” She said and I glared at her.
“It’s not my destiny and I don’t bloody care if my mother or ancestors were vessels for the witches. That has nothing to do with me…”
“It had everything to do with you, Luca. With your offspring as well. Even if you insist you don’t want to be a vessel anymore, the ancestors already chose you” She informed before her eyes trailed to my neck.
“Bloody hell, what is that?” Damon questioned as he stared at my neck and I furrowed my eyebrows before walking towards a mirror only to see a big black witch star on my neck.
“What the fuck is this?” I questioned as I tried rubbing it off.
“It’s a mark from our ancestors. Your mother has passed on her mark to you…”
“I don’t bloody want it! Can’t you fucking understand that?! I’m an Alpha now, a father, a husband, I have duties! Get it off me before I snap your neck in half” I growled as I stalked slowly towards her and she frowned.
“I don’t have the power to remove the ancestor’s mark, Luca. This is a gift and once you conquer the voices, you’ll be the best version of yourself. You’ll be able to fulfil whatever duties you have and so much more” She looked straight into my eyes as she spoke.
“I don’t want it. You just fucking said my mother died before she could conquer the voices. What makes you think I can do it then?” I questioned through clenched teeth.
“Because you’re stronger than your mother ever was. You will succeed as long as you let us help you. With your level of power, you should be able to conquer the voices in one to two years. During that period, you can stay here and…” I immediately started laughing and she paused mid
sentence.
“Now I see you must be losing your damn mind. I should leave my family, my pack and come stay with the witches? You’re really starting to piss me off with your nonsense” I muttered and she frowned.
“It’s the only way and that’s why your mother left you in the first place. Unfortunately, she couldn’t succeed but you will, I believe you will…”
“I am not leaving my family” I growled in my face.
“It’s safer for your family if you’re not close to them, Luca. Trust me on this. Very soon, the voices will start making you do things and if we are not there to help you, you may end up killing someone” She informed me and I scoffed.
“That’s bullshit!”
“It isn’t bullshit, Luca. Your mother killed your father and would have killed you too if we hadn’t intervened. She was just as stubborn as you were but she knew it was for their own good. When you have conquered the voices, you can return back to them” She said to me and I stared at her for a while before letting out a scoff.
“Damon, I think we are done here. If I stay here any longer, I might end up murdering some witches” I muttered while still staring at the Queen of witches.
“I won’t be opposed to that. I’m also itching to snap their necks” Damon replied while leaning against a wall as she stared at them like a predator. I knew it was taking everything in him not to let death viper intervene in this.
“You need to listen to me…”
“No you need to listen to me, witch. I’m not playing these little games with you. You may not know me that well but when angered, I can be very mean. This will be the last time I warn you, her these fucking voices out of my head” I muttered as I stared intently into her eyes before walking
away.
“You’re making a big mistake, Luca” She called after us as we walked out of the cave and only when we got into the car was I able to breathe properly.
“Don’t listen to a fucking word they say, they’re just trying to get into your head and make you their puppet. If the voices still bother you after today then we’re going to burn the witches coven to the fucking ground” Damon uttered as he started the car.
I didn’t say a word to him and I knew he could sense how tense I was so he tried his best to bring up something to talk about but all I wanted at that moment was to be with Delilah and Mia.

Chapter 178
It was afternoon the next day by the time we got to the pack. My head was banging from lack of sleep but at least I couldn’t hear the voices
anymore.
As soon as I saw Delilah waiting for me again at our doorstep with Mia in her arms, all my worry washed away and a big smile appeared on my face.
“If anything happens, call me. Now get out of here and go be with your family” Damon uttered with a slight smile on his face and I immediately climbed out of the car and tried not to run to Delilah but before I even realized it, I was sprinting across the field just to get to her.
She had a smile on her face as she stared at me but behind those eyes, I saw worry. Almost like she could guess something was wrong even though I hadn’t told her anything yet.
“Are you ok…” Before she could complete her sentence, I slammed my lips against hers and couldn’t stop the moan that escaped my lips. I tried my best to press against Mia as I poured all my longing into the kiss.
“Luca…” She murmured breathlessly as I pulled away slightly with my lips still above hers.
“I need you, I fucking need you right now Delilah“…
