The man’s breathing grew heavier and rougher.
Rosalie summoned her courage to face his injury, watching as he used tweezers to pull a bullet from his chest and then toss it into a nearby dish. He tilted his head back and let out a long breath.
Then, he used the tweezers to remove the shards from his wound. After that, he picked up a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to rinse his wound, but his hands were trembling.
Rosalie took the hydrogen peroxide from him. Let me handle it. I’ll help you.
Vincent let his hands fall to his side, not stopping her.
Rosalie carefully rinsed his wound with hydrogen peroxide. As if afraid of causing him pain, she blew gently on his injury while cleaning it.
Noticing her actions, a playful smile flickered in Vincent’s eyes.
After she finished rinsing his wound with hydrogen peroxide, she followed up with a saline solution to clean the residue. Next, she disinfected the area with iodine and bandaged the wound.
There was still a bullet lodged in his shoulder.
He couldn’t extract the bullet from his back by himself, so it was up to Rosalie to do it.
Her hands trembled a bit. As she brought the tweezers closer to his wound, she couldn’t control her nerves. Annoyed with herself, she bit her thumb hard, trying to use pain to distract herself.
If her shaking hands caused him further injury, she would feel really bad.
I’m not afraid of you, so why should you be? Just get the bullet out, Vincent urged coldly.
Rosalie slapped her hand against her other hand, took a deep breath, then gritted her teeth and plunged the tweezers into his wound.
Almost simultaneously, she could feel the man’s body tense and his breathing growing heavier.
To minimize his pain, Rosalie had to push the tweezers deeper to find the bullet, but after several attempts, she still couldn’t get it out.
She had no idea what she was doing, but the man still bore it in silence and didn’t make a sound.
Seeing the blood oozing from his
wound, Rosalie felt her heart
tremble. I’m sorry. Does it hurel

He was already in pain, and she was poking around in his wound.
Vincent turned his head around. I’ll count to ten. Get it out.
Ten seconds? But I-
Before Rosalie could finish, Vincent immediately began counting down, Ten, nine, eight…
She was still in a daze, and upon hearing him count, she simply jabbed the tweezers back in.

pale. He gripped the cushion tightly, gritting his teeth as he counted

With a loud snap, the bullet was tossed onto the dish.
Rosalie breathed heavily, covered in sweat. I… I got it out.
Vincent forced a pale smile. You did it. Don’t be afraid of things you’re capable of doing next time.
He used a tone one would use when reprimanding a child. Rosalie couldn’t retort and merely nodded. If it hadn’t been for the pressure he put on her, she probably would have hesitated much longer.
She quickly cleaned Vincent’s wound and bandaged it.
She found some painkillers in the medicine cab, filled a cup with water, and fed him a few tablets.
Vincent got up from the couch and staggered toward the room. With a thud, he collapsed against the wall.
Rosalie hurried forward to support him.
Vincent glanced at her, his entire body nearly collapsing onto her frail frame.
