Rosalie snapped back to reality, and shook her head. It’s nothing. I’ll be right back.
She turned and walked away, with Theodore watching her retreating figure.
Back in the hospital room, Rosalie explained to Sebastian that she needed to attend a wedding. She conveniently left out that Theodore would be accompanying her.
Given Sebastian’s current condition, mentioning Theodore’s name would require further explanation. Rosalie feared such a revelation might be too much for Sebastian to handle, especially if he believed that all his memories were incorrect.
Seb, I’ll try to be back as quickly as I can. Rest well, and if you need anything, just give me a call.
It’s alright, Rose. Just go. It’s actually nice to see you busy with your own life, Sebastian replied, settling back into his pillows.
Rosalie tucked him in. I’ll go now. I’ll bring you some candy when I return.
Sebastian chuckled. Honey, do you think of me as a child?
Yep, I’m treating you like one. So, you’d better grow up quickly.
Sometimes Rosalie would tease him, and it would always make them both smile.
Sebastian nodded. I’ll grow up quickly and be a real husband for you.
Rosalie’s smile faltered; after a long pause, she forced a smile and said, I’ll be going now.
Once Rosalie left, Sebastian’s smile faded, replaced by a slight frown. A fleeting look of confusion and a hint of unease crossed his dark eyes. Why did she always avoid intimacy when he said something affectionate?
It wasn’t just avoidance in words, but in actions and expressions as well. It was as if she didn’t want them to get too close. But they were married, after all. Kissing, hugging, even sleeping together should be normal. So why the avoidance?
Especially the last time he kissed her he had clearly noticed her anxious look.
Her avoidance wasn’t obvious; he hadn’t thought much about it at first, but as it happened more frequently, it felt off. However, he just couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong.
Rosalie arrived at Theodore’s side.

Theodore stood upright. Have you told Sebastian?
Rosalie nodded. Yes.
Did you tell him we’re going together?
Rosalie replied, That’s none of your concern. I don’t want to answer that.
She wasn’t angry or indifferent, just calm.
Theodore’s eyebrows twitched slightly before he nodded. Alright.
She clearly hadn’t told Sebastian.
Rosalie let out a small sigh of relief. At least he wasn’t being as persistent as he used to be. It seemed that since the last
conversation in the car, something about him had changed.
What kind of clothes do you like? I’ll take you shopping, he offered.

You’re wearing that? Theodore eyed her up and down. Are you sure?
Rosalie glanced at herself. What’s wrong with this? It’s a pretty expensive dress. It shouldn’t embarrass you.
He frowned. That’s not what I meant. I was just wondering if you wanted to dress a bit more formally.
She smiled faintly. It’s someone
else’s wedding. Why should I dress
so formally? I don’t want to overshadow the event. You don’t expect me to wear a couture gown, do you?
