“Well, Rose? Have you come round yet? Do you want me to send someone to kill your son, or will you submit to me obediently, listen to me, and behave yourself? Instead of trying to kill or harm yourself.”
Sebastian tried to make himself look as gentle and tender as he could be, as if he were patiently negotiating with Rosalie. In truth, this was nothing like a negotiation.
Rosalie basically had no choice.
“How do you want me to submit to you?” she asked in a hoarse voice.
The video of Steve woke her up. Not only was she Justin’s lover, but she was also a mother. She couldn’t stand idly by watching Steve get into trouble. She couldn’t neglect her son’s safety because of the misery she was in.
Sebastian smiled, finally satisfied. “I just want you to listen to me and stay by my side. Don’t act like a living corpse and cooperate when in bed with me.”
Sebastian spoke as though he was talking about things as simple and intuitive as eating and drinking.
A simple word from the devil was sufficient to kill many, but he spoke as though it was something completely normal and acceptable.
Rosalie’s world plunged into darkness, immediately turning black and white, completely void of color.
She eventually shut her eyes in misery.
“Yes, I’ll do that.”
Rosalie’s answer made Sebastian heave a sigh of relief. He kissed her forehead.
“That’s the way! My Rose, be good just like this. Had you been this obedient earlier, I wouldn’t have hit you or tied you up till you’re wounded. Look, your wrist is bleeding so badly, my heart aches. I’ll treat your wound right now. Stay right here, I’ll go get the first aid kit.”
Rosalie lay hopelessly on the bed, waiting for Sebastian to return.
When he did, he put the first aid kit on the bedside and said, “My Rose, you’re behaving so well, waiting patiently for me on the bed. I’m so glad.”
Sebastian looked very happy, as if his relationship with Rosalie had taken a turn for the better. Even if did, it was only because of his threats and not because she genuinely liked him. Despite that, it made him happy.
Sebastian treated the wound on her wrist and wrapped it in gauze.
“Darling, don’t let it come in contact with water for the next few days.”
He spoke to her as though she were a child, coaxing her like what a thoughtful husband and a loving man would do.
That was the most laughable thing in the world.
Sebastian was so good at putting on an act.
After treating Rosalie’s wound, he put the first aid kit aside and pulled her up from the bed, giving her a bear hug.
“Darling, let me take you to the washroom and freshen you up before we go for lunch. You must be hungry.” Sebastian carried her like a baby into the washroom.
At around 11.40 am, Sebastian carried Rosalie, who was changed into a fresh set of clothes, to the dining room and sat her down.
Lunch was ready, and the table was filled with fragrant and delicious food.
Sebastian sat Rosalie down next to him. Her feet never touched the ground the entire time, as if she couldn’t take care of herself at all.
She looked dull and lifeless, like a puppet or doll with no life of its own.
Sebastian was happy to doll his puppet up and hug it in his arms.
“Rose, look. These are all your favorite dishes. I know you so well and know what you enjoy eating.
telse but me will treat you?
you so well?”
Sebastian felt moved by his own efforts and dedication.
