The enraged roar of a man who had lost all reason echoed throughout the entire room.
Rosalie no longer had the strength to argue. She merely sneered and said, “Because Justin was worth it. I wanted to be with him. But you…you disgust me.”
At this moment, it seemed the only way she could retaliate against Sebastian was through words—to trample on his pride as a man.
Sebastian’s breathing grew rapid and heavy. He clenched Rosalie’s wrist tightly, his teeth grinding together in fury.
“You bitch! You wanted to sleep with him, huh? Then I’ll remove all traces of him from you bit by bit until there’s nothing left! Then, you’ll be my slave, mentally, physically, and emotionally!” he yelled.
The latter half of the night was another storm of torment.
Rosalie had no idea how she had survived. All she knew was that Sebastian had been like a wild beast that was completely out of control. She had almost died.
Yet, as she hovered on the brink of death, all she could think about was that maybe it would be better if she simply died. That way, she could be with Justin.
But when she opened her eyes, morning had arrived. She was still alive. Sebastian was already dressed and was standing by the window, gazing out at the view.
Rosalie’s hands and feet were bound with ropes.
The sunlight stung her eyes, making them ache. She turned her head to the side.
There was nothing on the floor, yet she could still see Justin lying there.
She hated herself for opening her eyes, for still being alive. She wished she would never wake up again.
Because the moment she did, that scene would return to her-the image of Justin lying on the ground, his bloodstained eyes wide open, watching helplessly as she was harmed by Sebastian.
She even wished that death was the end, that there was nothing after it—no soul nor afterlife. Because then, Justin wouldn’t have to be tormented even in death.
It hurt. It hurt so much. Even breathing was agony.
She truly wanted to die.
Why were the heavens doing this to her? Why?
Wasn’t she worthy of happiness? Why must the world push her into despair time and time again?
Noticing that Rosalie was crying on the bed, Sebastian turned to look at her. Her shoulders trembled violently.
Sebastian looked somewhat haggard and weary. He walked over to the bed and sat down, his large, heated palm gripping her cool shoulder.
Rosalie flinched, as though she had suffered a terrible fright, trembling even more.
“If you just obeyed me, you wouldn’t
have to suffer. Why can’t you see how much I love you? If I didn’t, why would do all this? Do you think I want to do these terrible things?” he said.
He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her shoulder. “You should be good. It’ll save you a lot of pain. I don’t want to hurt you. Why do you insist on forcing me?”
His voice was hoarse and thick with emotion.
“Think about the first time we met—how beautiful it was. It was your birthday that day, but your husband……”
At this, Sebastian smirked.
“He’s not your husband anymore. I’m the only husband you have. Rose, we once had wonderful times together, didn’t we? You even turned against Theodore for my sake. We were once sincere with each other. I even treated your child as my own, showering him with love. Do you think all of that was fake?”
He closed his eyes in anguish.
“Rose, I know that to you, I’m a monster and utterly unforgivable But I have a heart too. The only softness in me was reserved for you and the child. Even though he wasn’t mine, I have never harmed him.”
