Rosalie’s nose tingled, and tears fell down her cheeks uncontrollably.
“Justin, I don’t know what to do. I’m so scared. I don’t know what the future holds.”
Hearing these words, Justin felt as if a knife had pierced his heart. It hurt.
“You’re right. I’m scared too. I don’t know what the future will be like either, so let’s just leave it at this. Stay with Theodore your bond spans over a decade. You once loved him so much. You have a child together, while I’m just an outsider. How could I ever compare?”
“Justin, don’t say that.”
If one met the right person, even a minute was enough to fall in love with them. But if it was the wrong person, even decades together wouldn’t stop both people from growing weary of each other.
Justin sighed. “Then what should I say? After all those years with him, does he really have no place in your heart?”
Rosalie lowered her head. “I…”
“Rose, don’t deny it. He’ll always have a place in your heart.”
It was easier to see things clearly as an outsider. That was why Justin could tell.
Last night, when Theodore took Rosalie out, Justin had secretly followed them. He had watched their interactions, and he even saw them kiss.
They had once been the closest people in the world. Even though they were divorced, their history and the child they shared were bonds that could never truly be broken.
The more Justin thought about it, the more he felt he had no right to come between them.
“Rose, I bought a plane ticket. My flight is tomorrow afternoon.”
“What?” Rosalie looked at him in shock. “You already bought the ticket?”
“Yeah. I was planning to tell you tomorrow morning, but I might as well tell you now.”
The longer he dragged it out, the harder it would be to leave.
“Justin…”
Rosalie grew anxious. She didn’t know what to say. She didn’t want him to leave, but she also couldn’t find the words to make him stay. And even if he stayed, what would that change?
“It’s for the best. I’m just returning home, so don’t be sad. We’ll see each other again. Let’s keep in touch.”
Justin reached out, wiping away the tears on Rosalie’s face. “Don’t cry.”
With that, he turned away, desolation written all over him.
The moment he left, a single tear slipped from his eyes.
Rosalie was sobbing uncontrollably, yet she lacked the strength to stop him. She could only watch as Justin got into the car and left.
A gust of wind swept past, bringing a chill.
Theodore walked over with a coat in his hand and gently draped it over Rosalie’s shoulders.
“Why didn’t you stop him?” he asked. “If you really didn’t want him to go, he wouldn’t have left.”
Rosalie replied, “I don’t know what

the future holds. So much has happened in the past two years. My hear is still in turmoil-I can’t enter a new relationship right now.”
Suddenly, Theodore wrapped his arms around her from behind, holding her tightly. He didn’t say a word and just closed his eyes, though he was in agony.
The woman he was holding in his arms no longer loved him alone. There was now another man.
“Rose, no matter what happens, I’ll always be by your side. I won’t leave ever again.”
“Theo, you don’t have to do this for me,” Rosalie said, her voice calm. “I’ve already made things clear between us. We can’t go back—”
“I don’t care,” Theodore interrupted.
“I don’t care whether we get back
together or not. I just want to stay by
your side and Steve’s side. Even if
one day, you marry another man.”
Rosalie didn’t know what to say. She gently freed herself from his embrace.
“Let’s go inside.”
