We moved out on December 2nd. Lincoln University should be covered in snow while in Jinovy, it was around seven or eight degrees. We had to wear wool jackets or winter coats.
Queenie and I were wearing baggy wool jumpers as we carried the things downstairs. It was exhausting, but we never stopped.
Colin wanted to hire a moving company, but Queenie said that since we rented an apartment and all we had were our clothes and some daily necessities, the four of us could carry them as they weren’t heavy. There was no need to spend money to hire a moving company.
Besides, she said that carrying things out felt more fun. Andrew and I agreed with her, so Colin relented. Indeed, we did not have a lot of things to carry. It only took all of us two to three trips to load everything onto Colin’s and Andrew’s cars.

As we were about to leave, several students came and offered their help enthusiastically since they knew we were moving out. They also congratulated
us.
After we placed the boxes in our new home, everyone admired the décor and complimented our choices. They said my home was more beautiful than Crystal House. It was noon shortly after. Colin had already made a reservation at a restaurant, so we went to have lunch.
Colin booked a small room that could accommodate two dining tables. Everyone sat down and waited for food. Some guys took out poker cards from nowhere and began playing card games.
Queenie sat to my left while Andrew sat to Queenie’s left. Colin would be sitting to my right, but it was empty now because he had things to do. When the dishes were served, Winston and Felix appeared.
I glanced at them, bemused. I wondered how those two strangers became good friends. Also, as Colin’s little brother, Felix wasn’t there to help him move out but came for the food. I found that rather annoying. The other table was fully occupied, so they had to share the same table with me. Felix sat opposite me while Winston sat next to him.

very much. He had been staring at me ever since he walked in. His lips parted several times, but nothing came out. I ignored him, not wanting to make Colin jealous on this joyous occasion.
Colin gave a simple speech and then everyone dug in. Everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly during the meal. Some got tipsy and reveled in the merriment.
Half of the guests were smoking.
