After a while, James and the group arrived. “Captain, Chana is hurt.”
Chana looked pale and was limping, soaked and dirty, as if she had fallen from a height and sprained her ankle. James had a basket with some tea leaves in it, and another person was carrying a child.
Nash observed the situation and asked coldly, “What were you doing on the mountain so early in the morning?”
James, sensing Nash’s displeasure, started to speak, but Chana, feeling guilty, interrupted, “I’m sorry. I wanted to pick some fresh tea leaves for you, but I slipped and fell. I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.”
