Twisting the knob, I open the door and enter, then close it behind me. I’m shocked to find her still in her pajamas, lying across the bed. Raven is the kind of person who is always on the go. It’s rare to find her still in bed at this time of the day. She’s usually up at the crack of dawn, always doing something.
I take a seat on the bed just as she slightly lifts her head, and I get a view of her face. There are dark circles under her eyes, and she looks exhausted and worn out. Looking at her, it finally hits me that I am not the only one this damn curse is draining. You don’t look so great, I murmur, watching as she flops back on the bed with a tired groan.
