Fedrick stepped closer, his warm scent enveloping me as he handed me the flowers. “Rough day?” he asked, his
tone light but laced with concern.
“You could say that,” I muttered, my fingers brushing his as I accepted the bouquet.
His eyes lingered on mine for a moment, and something unspoken passed between us. I didn’t need words to appreciate his calm strength. For now, that was enough
Taking a deep breath, I turned to face Fedrick and found him staring at me, his gaze intense yet calm. His eyes
softened as they dropped to my cheek, and he stepped closer
“He slapped you, didn’t he?” he asked, his voice low and steady. His fingers brushed lightly against my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine. His touch wasn’t just gentle–it held a quiet promise of protection.
I opened my mouth to respond, but he spoke again, his voice barely above a whisper. “Do you still love him? Do you need more time?”
The questions hung between us, his tone careful, but his words carried a weight I couldn’t ignore. I could sense his wolf beneath the surface, calm but watchful, its presence wrapping around me like a protective cloak.
He took a step back, giving me space, but his eyes never left mine. “I don’t want you to marry me if you’ll regret it later. The woman I’m meant to be with should have no doubts and no other man in her heart.”
There it was again–the quiet possessiveness in his words, so unlike Darius’s suffocating need for control. Fedrick’s wasn’t selfish, it was protective, steady, and oddly reassuring.
“I don’t have feelings for him.” I said firmly, meeting his gaze. “Maybe a sliver of hatred, but even that isn’t deep enough. If it were, I’d have used my powers to end him and Selene, burying them together in a six–foot grave.” My wolf stirred, letting out a low growl of approval at my blunt honesty.
Fedrick’s lips quirked into the faintest smile but his eyes remained serious. I took a step closer, drawn to the

warmth radiating from him “As far as you don’t betray me or give me a reason to regret, there’s nothing for me to
second–guess. I know what I want.”
Our eyes locked, and I felt the magnetic pull between us. Slowly, Fedrick leaned down, his face inches from mine. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat echoing in my ears. My wolf stirred, her excitement mixing with mine, making my skin tingle.
His breath caressed my lips, his scent–a mix of cedarwood and jasmine and something uniquely him- enveloped me. I swallowed hard, my throat bobbing as anticipation coursed through me. My eyes fluttered closed. and I leaned forward, our lips brushing softly at first, like a whisper of what was to come.
“Are you sure about this?” he murmured, his voice a low growl that sent heat coursing through me.
“I am,” I whispered, my voice steady despite the rapid beat of my heart.
The moment the words left my lips, his mouth claimed mine in a kiss that was deep and consuming. His arms circled around me, pulling me closer as my hands found their way to his chest. My wolf howled in delight, her energy surging alongside mine.
When we finally pulled apart, both of us were breathless, our lips glistening with the remnants of the kiss.
“You’re beautiful,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion
The intensity of the moment lingered, but everything after that blurred into a whirlwind of emotions and sensations. By the time I woke the next morning, my entire body ached, a delicious soreness that reminded me of how deeply our bond had begun to form.
A strange warmth spread across my neck, and I froze. My hand trembled as I raised it to touch the spot, the sensation sending a shiver down my spine. “Is it what I think it is?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
My wolf answered before I could process it. She howled joyfully in my mind, her excitement coursing through me
like an electric current
I shot to my feet and rushed to the mirror, my heart pounding. My reflection stared back at me, but my eyes locked on the unmistakable mark etched into my neck–a mate mark.
“So, Fedrick is my mate,” I murmured, my voice filled with awe and disbelief. The realization hit me like a tidal wave, washing over every part of me. It explained the pull, the uncontrollable urges, the way my wolf stirred
whenever he was near.
As I stood there, Fedrick’s scent reached me–a mix of cedarwood and the rich aroma of food. I caught his reflection in the mirror as he walked toward me, his steps deliberate, his eyes warm.
He wrapped his arms around me from behind, his solid frame pressing against mine. His lips brushed my cheek in a soft peck, sending another rush of heat through me.
My stomach growled in response, and he chuckled softly I didn’t feel embarrassed, though. Instead, I found myself captivated by the reflection of us in the minor–his arms around me, his mark on my neck, the way we fit
together. I wanted to freeze the moment, to hold onto it forever.
“Babe,” I said, my voice smooth yet determined. I tilted my head to meet his gaze in the mirror. “Let’s get our marriage certificate today. We can deal with the wedding Inter.”
His eyes widened, surprise flickering across his face. “Are you sure about this?”
“I’m one hundred percent sure,” I replied without hesitation, turning in his arms to face him fully. I wrapped my arms around him, burying myself in the warmth of his embrace
Fedrick’s lips tugged into a foolishly wide smile, and I couldn’t help but grin back. His happiness radiated.
through me, filling me with a sense of belonging I hadn’t felt in years
He leaned down, his eyes locking with mine. I tilted my head up as his lips descended, and the world around us disappeared in the depth of another kiss.
That same day,Fedrick and I made it official. By the time we walked out of the courthouse with our marriage certificate in hand, a mix of joy and disbelief coursed through me. My wolf hummed with contentment, the mate bond between us glowing brighter with each passing moment.
But, I never knew we’d encounter something on our way home.
