Harriette’s POV
“Now, let’s play a game, shall we? Rowan asked with a sinister smile on his face. His hold on my chin tightened and I grabbed his hand. I dug my sharp fingernail into the delicate skin between the veins of his hand, just below his palm.
He hissed and stared dangerously at me.
“Tell him no. Harriette, Mika asked. The poor lady was still on the floor, trying to breathe through the pain.
I smirked as I stared him down. “If he wants to play, who am I to stop him?” I asked Mika.
Her eyes snapped at me as though my head was two. She looked at me as though I was insane. No, I wasn’t. If I saw an opportunity to get what I wanted, I wouldn’t let it go.
Rowan’s grip suddenly slipped down to my throat and he held on tightly.
“I knew there was something different about you, Harriette. Those eyes are like that of a deer. A hunted deer,”
I could feel my breath hitching as he tightened his hold. I grabbed onto his hand and pulled back as much as l’epuld. I needed air to survive and that bastard was not about to suck the life out of me.
Tell me, then, are you the hunter?” I struggled to ask him.
He suddenly let go of me and a rushed bust of air ran through my lungs. I coughed out as I tried to regulate my breathing. My eyes were already watery.

Mika pulled herself towards me, Rowan on the other side, stood at the other side of the room and stared at us with a devil smirk on his face.
“What’s he doing?” I asked Mika. Rowan looked as though he just came out of a horror movie. He was scary, more intimidating, and totally different from the Rowan that I knew.
“That’s not Rowan. That’s his wolf, Thorne, Mika explained.
“His wolf?” That sounded strange to me. His wolf? I yelled in my head.
Weren’t werewolves supposed to be one with their wolves? Mother said our wolves aren’t supposed to have a mind of their own. Even when we shift to our wolves, it’s supposed to be us. I never communicated with my wolf because that was how it was supposed to be. It wasn’t until I arrived here that I realized people talked to their wolves,
That only affirmed my conviction that I had to leave this deadly pack. It was against everything that I’d been taught by our pack and especially by Mother.
“He can shift without actually shifting, that is, he can take over Rowan’s body without permission. He’s even more unhinged and obsessed than Rowan, a twisted embodiment of madness and evil”
Mika explained further.
“So, that’s Thorne, not Rowan,”
I said and Mika nodded.
Chapter 148
What the fuck! I yelled internally.
What in heaven’s name is going on in this pack? This rogue pack keeps giving me all levels of impossibility. Just when 1 thought I’d seen enough, they came up with another.

“Maybe you should call the warriors,” I suggested.

“You want to play, right?”
I swallowed hard before nodding.
“Let’s play then,” he asked.
Thorne wore his dark sunglasses, hiding his red eyes, and pulled me out of the room. When I looked back, Commander Mika had lost consciousness.
“She needs help,”
I told Thorne
“You need help,” he retorted and I became lost for words.
We arrived at the parking lot in the administration building and he brought out two car keys. He folded them in his palms and stretched them towards me.
“Pick one. Player,”
I hesitated. “Don’t make me snap your head off your neck, PICK ONE” He growled after the last statement. I reluctantly selected the key on his left palm.)
He opened the car door and I got in. Even if he hadn’t locked the door, I wouldn’t run away, I needed Rowan in his vulnerable state and this was one. The only downside was he was much stronger in this state.
His wolf was a fucking bastard.
I mean it! He wasn’t just a bastard but a lunatic as well. He drove through the pack like he was a blind man. He almost hit a pack member and I screamed in horror. When I turned, he was laughing like a maniac.
“Did you see that?” He asked joyfully and I frowned.
“You almost killed him,”
He frowned back. “Listen, sweet mouth, just because I like you doesn’t mean you can yell at me,”

He focused back on driving and continued like a lunatic till he sippped in front of a building.
“Where are we?” I asked.
He gaired at me and 1 bit down on my tongue. “I ask the questions not you,”
He opened my door and pulled me out of the car. He dragged me into the building with my arm, pulling me as if I was a rag doll. It was when we entered the building that I realized we were in a mall.
I didn’t even know there was such a place in that pack.
People bowed as we walked by but he hardly acknowledged them. He threw me into a clothing store and walked in after me
“She lacks clothes. Give her some,
He demanded.

I waved my hand in front of his face. “No, no thank you. I’m fine with what I have,” Having multiple clothes was madness.

Reluctantly and angrily, I began wearing the clothes one after the other. Once I was done, I would go out and he would approve the dress or not. When he had his fill, he snapped his finger and the attendant brought out all the clothes he approved.
