Chapter 406
“Oh, I see…” After what seemed like an eternity, Milly’s voice broke the silence with a gentle sigh.
George was nervous. “I …”
“What a pity, I was hoping that if you had amnesia, I wouldn’t have to pay back that 135 million.”
She sounded sad as if she genuinely felt it was a shame. Yet, George was happy upon hearing that.
So, this is what it feels like to come back from the dead.
George hugged the girl in his arms tighter, as if afraid she would disappear if he let go. ‘Even without amnesia, you don’t need to pay it back. From now on, you can have how many 135 million you want. My money is all yours.”
Milly’s eyes sparkled as she took advantage of what he said. “Really, all mine? Can I buy an entire building of luxury handbags?”
George smiled. “Sure, we’ll buy six.”
‘Then I want to buy an entire street of gold jewelry!”
“Sure.”
“And I want six private yachts!”
“No problem.”
“And sixty handsome male models!”
George’s soft, apologetic gaze turned ice-cold in an instant. Before Milly could react, he kissed her fiercely.
“Mmm… mmm…
After a long time, he finally released her, leaving her gasping for air. “Everything is fine but that.”
Milly wanted to protest to let him know that she was in charge, but she kept quiet when she met his sharp gaze. Still, she wasn’t ready to forgive him so easily. She huffed. “Fine, when you get all that ready, I’ll forgive you!”
George breathed a sigh of relief. Tate Group can provide those things at any time.
“Alright, once we’re off the island, I’ll have Danny deliver them to you immediately.”
“Good, that sounds fair.”
Only then did George completely relax. Thank goodness she wasn’t angry. He then said, “Milly.”
“Hmm?”
Milly looked up into George’s loving eyes. She could feel that his feelings for her were genuine. “You…”
‘I love you.”
It was the first time George had declared his love so openly and passionately.
Milly smiled. “I love you, too.”
It was also the first time George heard Milly’s response and he was overjoyed. “So, does that mean we’re…”
“Like a love song… ‘Milly sang.
George’s expression darkened.
What the hell?
Milly felt oddly satisfied at that. Hmph, he had deceived me back then; now we’re even!
Wait…
Suddenly, she remembered something. She sat up quickly, tugging at George’s shirt. “I remember you were seriously injured. How are you now? Have your wounds healed?”
George sighed helplessly as he caught her wandering hands. “I’m fine now. As long as I don’t make any sudden movements, I’ll be okay.”
Milly was sceptical. “Really?”
She remembered his injuries being severe. How could he recover so quickly? He was probably trying to comfort her.
The more George looked at her, the cuter she seemed, even when she was being fierce. Unable to resist, he leaned in and kissed her. “It’s true. I’m not lying. When we get back, I’ll show you, just you. Alright?”
His voice was teasing and… sensual.
Milly could guess why he didn’t want her to see his body now, so she didn’t insist. “Okay.”
George hugged her tighter, his warm breath tickling her ear. “Milly, does this mean I’m officially your boyfriend now?”
“Uh… “Milly lowered her head in thought.
George didn’t expect her hesitation. She hadn’t agreed to date him before because she didn’t like him. But now, she had acknowledged her feelings and even declared she would pursue him. He wondered why she was hesitating now.
Moreover, they kissed and hugged. If she didn’t agree, he might just die of frustration on this deserted island.
After a long pause, Milly finally spoke, “I can’t go public with our relationship just yet. How about we … date secretly?”
George remained silent.
Not saying anything would have been better. Hearing this made him hurt even more.
“Are you ashamed of me?” George gritted his teeth.
He had waited so long to be with her, only to be told they had to keep their relationship a secret.
Why does she want to hide it?
I’m the CEO of the Tate Group; a powerful figure in Halturia. People would go to all lengths to meet me and flatter me. Why do I have to hide my relationship with Milly?
Milly sensed his frustration and tried to soothe him. “I want to make it big on my own in the entertainment industry first.”
George said firmly, ‘The Tates can help you. If you want an Oscar, I can get it for you this year.”
Milly pouted. “Even if you gave me ten Oscars, people would just say I was backed by a wealthy family. No one would see my talent and hard work. They’d call me a sellout behind my back. Is that what you want?”
George’s eyes darkened as a murderous aura surrounded him. “I’d like to see who dares to call you that!”
Milly countered, “They might not say it to my face, but can you control everyone’s thoughts?
“Besides, if I wanted to rely on connections, I could just use the Burnetts’ powers, especially my brother’s power. I wouldn’t need to hide my identity then, right?”
George frowned, still a bit unhappy. “But…”
Milly interrupted him. “No buts. If you can’t accept it, then let’s wait until I win an award and become a leading actress. We can start dating then. It’ll only be another ten years or so. You’re only twenty-three; you can wait.”
