A Film Queen – Chapter 391

A Film Queen of Two Worlds

Chapter 391
Wait a minute….

A third party meddling in a family affair?
Two men and one woman don’t make up a family… I must have misinterpreted it! Yes, that’s it-definitely a mistake!
Luckily, Charlie just gave them a stern glance without saying anything more. At the same time, they managed to settle in here by pleading persistently.
With more people unexpectedly joining, the food prepared earlier obviously fell short. Milly couldn’t bear to let them go hungry while watching, so she gritted her teeth and cooked all the remaining food.
She wasn’t sure how long Hannah, Stephanie, and Dakota had been hungry, but as soon as she served the dishes, the three of them shamelessly dug in, forgetting all about their image as female stars.
If Milly hadn’t saved a bit of fish soup for the
unconscious person in the house, they might have even finished that off too!
William angrily guarded his bowl, warning them with a snarl, “Eat less. My boss hasn’t had a meal yet!
“Don’t touch that plate. It’s Charlie’s. He’s a neat freak. None of you can touch it!
“And mine’s off-limits too. I’m not full yet!
“This food was brought by my boss. If you want some, find your own!”
Despite his efforts to block them, the plates in front of them were still cleaned out.
In the end, he could only stuff his mouth full of food and glare at them fiercely. “Hmph, you got away with it.”
Stephanie, feeling content after eating and drinking, was in a better mood. “Milly, can we have steamed tuna next time? I feel like braised tuna loses its original delicate taste and becomes too oily, which isn’t good for health.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the air froze.
Stephanie also sensed that something was wrong. She gently covered her lips with her right hand, her eyes widening in a pitiful manner, resembling a startled little rabbit.
She said, ‘Ah, sorry about that. I’m pretty straightforward. I say what’s on my mind. You don’t mind, do you, Milly?”
“You mother f*cker…”
Milly swiftly stopped William, who was about to grab Stephanie’s hair, and gave a soft laugh. “Of course, that’s fine. If you want steamed fish next time, we can do that. But…
Her tone shifted as she added, “But we’re fresh out of fish here. If you want steamed fish, why not go out and catch one yourself? Then we can cook whatever fish you bring back.”
Stephanie’s face stiffened, clearly not understanding. “We… have to catch the fish ourselves?”
Isn’t that supposed to be prepared by the production team?
Just like this house.
Upon hearing her words, William rolled his eyes openly and retorted sharply, “Otherwise? Do you think fish fall from the sky? My boss caught this fish. If you want to eat, go catch one yourself!”
He then muttered under his breath, “Not much work, but tons of nonsense!”
Stephanie looked incredulous, her face looking disbelief. “But this is bluefin tuna! How could you just casually catch this kind of fish?”
William snorted coldly and began to boast, his eyes closed in satisfaction. “So what? My boss is awesome. Whether it’s bluefin tuna, sharks, mermaids, or whales, if she wants it, she can get it! That’s how awesome she is. If you don’t believe it, keep it to yourself!”
Milly wanted to clarify it so badly.
I can’t. I just can’t, okay? Thanks!
At this moment, the audience in the live broadcast room also raised questions.
You know, I’ve been wondering about this. Bluefin tuna live in waters between 100 to 400 metres deep. Normally, fish below 200 metres are deep-sea fish. So, tuna are deep-sea fish, and they can’t be caught without special tools. How do they catch them?!’
Yeah, if tuna swim at their fastest, they can reach 160 kilometres per hour in just one hour, rivalling dolphins and sharks. How could they catch them bare-handed without any tools?’
Can we stop with the mindless criticism? Just because they don’t have tools, does that mean they can’t catch tuna? Tuna sometimes surfaces when they’re near death!’
Oh my, are you a fool? If a tuna dies in the deep sea, where there are no meat-eating creatures, how could it end up on the surface?’
And when Milly caught the tuna, it happened in a blind spot, so no one saw it. By the time she showed up again, she had a tuna in her hands-maybe it was just given to her by the crew!
But her clothes were really wet…’
It’s all part of the act, isn’t it? It has to look convincing. If her clothes weren’t wet, how would a bunch of dummies believe it?’
I don’t buy it! My Milly wouldn’t do sneaky stuff like that!’
Still don’t believe it? Is your brain not working? Those things swim as fast as sharks. Try catching a f*cking shark!’
The livestream was chaotic, but Milly was oblivious. Right now, the priority is finding herbs to bring down Matthew’s fever. If it kept rising, she’d end up with just six brothers!
Dakota was sharp. Knowing she had the least presence, she quickly stood up to gain favour. “I’ll go do the dishes.’
Milly nodded. “Okay, you guys stay put. I’ll head out and see if there are any nearby herbs. I remember spotting some bupleurum around here.”
Charlie, who had been silent on the side, seemed to have thought of something. Upon hearing her words, he stood up and followed behind her. “I’ll go with you!
Milly nodded. Having one more person to help was a good thing.
But…
She was more worried about William.
William stood there looking annoyed, as if he had clashed with Hannah and Stephanie. At home, it wouldn’t be a big deal-no one dared mess with the Tates. But here, on a live show?
It could easily stir up trouble, especially with Hannah’s huge fan base.
“William, do you want to come with me?”
She wanted to call William away. He was straightforward but hot-tempered-no match for Stephanie. A few words from her could easily make William trend, and she didn’t feel comfortable leaving him here alone.
To her surprise, William didn’t care at all. He grumpily rejected her suggestion, “Hmph! I’m not going. I have to stay and guard the house, lest some people take advantage and steal from us while we’re away!”
Stephanie played dumb beside him. “William, you can go. We’ll stay here and watch over things for you.”
