Chapter 361
Danny raised a concern to George, saying, “Mr. Tate, since we don’t have Ms. Milly with us, should we maybe head back and wait till we find her before doing anything?”
It seemed risky to move without a clear picture of what was happening with the Ghost Sect.
George looked unfazed as he peered through the open door, narrowed his eyes, and walked in.
Danny’s worry was evident, and he hurriedly called after him, “Mr. Tate!”
He signalled for the rest of their group to follow and look out for George.
Lucius also went in boldly, leading a sharp- eyed special forces team alongside him.
When they stepped into the abandoned factory, they were surprised to find it tidy and well-kept, which made it seem like someone had been taking care of the place recently.
Just like the last team that came in mentioned, there weren’t any guards in sight. The place looked empty and didn’t give off the vibe of being the secret base of some underground group. Everyone was alert, ready for anything that might happen next. George and Lucius, leading the pack, didn’t even put away their pistols.
They moved slowly towards the main workshop entrance.
And when they finally made their big entrance, there wasn’t a soul in sight – not even a bird flying through.
Danny took a good look around, eyebrows raised. There was something weird going on, that was for sure. From what he knew, the Ghost Sect was always up to something. This had to be out of the ordinary!
Meanwhile, back with Lucius, the lead on the assault team relayed an update, “Commander, we’ve got everyone huddled together in a room inside this workshop.”
The door was tightly closed, obscuring the view inside, but faintly, cheering, howling, and singing could be heard.
There were also sounds of women playfully complaining.
They sure seemed to be having a great time!
With a sense of urgency, the team tightened their grip on their weapons, bracing for what was to come.
Then, at Lucius’s nod, the assault team’s lead booted the door open, yelling, “Nobody moves! Everyone on the floor!”
Right away, the gunslingers around George and the commandos near Lucius lifted their weapons together, pointing straight at the room.
Nobody even glanced their way.
The room stayed just as noisy as before.
Right near the door was this girl, her cheeks all red and obviously buzzed, trying to balance herself with one foot on the coffee table and the other on the floor. Clutching a colourful wine glass and muttering something cheeky like, “Hmph, watch me today… I’m basically the goddess of gambling come to life!”
Around her, about five or six other girls were hanging out, all looking at her like she was the coolest thing ever. Even though they were a bit older, they sprawled around her, cheering, “Miss, you’re incredible!”
Over two hundred bandits formed a large circle in the room, eagerly watching as the girl tossed the dice in front of them. “Wow, amazing! Incredible! Go, Sect Leader!” they cheered her on.
The group stood ready at the door, bracing themselves for what was coming next.
Something didn’t feel right!
Danny and his crew were totally surprised by the bizarre situation in front of them.
Is Ms. Milly being held against her will, or is she actually calling the shots with these outlaws?
Their surprised looks were totally in sync as they tried to figure out what was happening.
When the rest of the Ghost Sect crew at the back caught wind of the commotion, they quickly turned, shocked to find that they had uninvited guests.
The place went dead silent in a heartbeat!
Then came, “Ah!”
The girls’ screams cut through the silence. “Oh no, where’s my gun?”
Some folks were already frantically looking for it.
But after a severe hunt, they found nothing.
Danny couldn’t help but crack a smirk. They’d been at this for ages, and only now had it hit them? Were these folks honestly from the Ghost Sect, or was someone just messing with them?
The pained shouts from a couple of people finally grabbed everyone’s attention, and they saw members of the Ghost Sect looking just as baffled as everyone else. Then, just like the groups before them, they began looking around but ended up empty- handed.
“Right, I just remembered that Sect Leader snagged our guns.”
“I’ve been thinking about why it took us so long to find anything and came up empty- handed. It freaked me out because I was worried we lost the gun.”
“So, what’s our move now?”
“I don’t know … “
Right at that moment, a face they all recognised started making its way through the crowd.
Glancing over with tired eyes and taking shaky steps before almost stumbling, Raiden said, “Hey, who are you, stepping into the Ghost Sect turf?!”
Danny’s eyes went wide at the sight of Raiden.
This was actually the Ghost Sect! He had half-expected it to be someone just messing around pretending to be them!
But when did their security get so slack? Or did they figure no one would be bold enough to cause trouble on their ground in Halturia?!
Throughout this, George only had eyes for Milly, who was swaying slightly. He completely ignored Raiden, who was trying to get his attention. Not used to being snubbed like this, Raiden looked like he was ready to throw down and start something.
“Hey there, good-looking, I’m talking to you! Can’t believe you’re just gonna … burp … ignore me like that!”
Nimbus, who was nearby, quickly stepped in to keep things from worsening.
Even though Milly had both threatened and tricked him into drinking, Nimbus could really hold his liquor. Out of the three, he was the one who kept his cool the best. He quickly figured out that this crew might actually be Sect Leader’s friends or family in Halturia. Maybe they noticed she was kidnapped and came to help her out.
They managed to find their base super fast, even faster than Shadow Palace.
They definitely shouldn’t take this group lightly!
Being friends with the sect leader in Halturia meant there really wasn’t any reason for trouble. When you think about it, they were on the same side. Plus, they had no weapons, and this wasn’t exactly their home territory. Suppose the other side wanted to start something.
In that case, they’d be at a significant disadvantage, and picking a fight would backfire on them.
