System: “To make it easier for you to forcefully take what you want, here’s a Power Pill as a
reward.”
The fragrance of the Power Pill wafted into my nose, perfectly avoiding Charles Gresham.
System reminder. “Your current strength exceeds his.”
I feel like I could lift a cow right now.
I flipped him over, taking the initiative. Charles Gresham raised his eyebrows as I pinned him down.
He resisted, but I subdued him.

Charles Gresham started chatting with me. “Eva, have you ever been to the prairie?”
Thanks for the invite, but I’m just a little gardener. The Garden is my whole world. I’ve never been to the prairie, actually.
Why is Charles Gresham bringing that up now?
I asked, curious, “Never been. Why? Is the prairie fun?”
“Of course, especially horseback riding. Charles Gresham, ever the experienced one,
suggested, “I’ll teach you.”
“Okay,” I said, my eyes wide with innocent and clear anticipation for the unknown.
Moonlight illuminated the flower branches outside, and the wind made the trees sway.
I collapsed in his arms, wanting to catch a nap, but Charles Gresham was wide awake.
Bursting with energy, he insisted on dragging me to the Garden to admire the scenery: “Eva,
the moonlight in the Garden is gorgeous! Let’s go!”
I shrank back, refusing. “I’m not going. Go yourself if you want to. I want to sleep.”
Before I could finish, I was suddenly weightless as he scooped me up into his arms.
Alright, alright. Since I don’t have to walk, I’ll deign to go with him,
Charles Gresham and I spent the entire night in the Garden.
After that night, Charles Gresham spoiled me rotten, treating me like the lady of the manor. My bank balance was so high I couldn’t spend it all.
This morning, I was pruning flower branches in the Garden.
I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see Letitia Sue.
Dressed head–to–toe in designer labels, she walked as if she owned the place.
I greeted her with a smile: “Ms. Sue, what brings you here? Can I offer you some coffee?”
Without any pleasantries, she said, “Okay, I’ll have a rose latte, made with fresh rose petals. I
only drink Geisha beans.”
“Wait a moment.” I went to pick rose petals; there’s a coffee machine in the garden.
I got out the Geisha beans she wanted, ground them, and made her a rose latte.
Letitia Sue, sitting on the swing, complained to me, “I’ve been texting Charles Gresham fo days, and he’s ignoring me. Ryan Gresham too.”
I replied casually, “Oh, is that so?”

“Yeah, I don’t know what those two are up to. It’s like they’re avoiding me.” Letitia Sue sighed. I brought her the coffee I’d made, saying with polite formality, “Ms. Sue, please enjoy.”
Letitia Sue took a sip of coffee. “Eva Lynn, you make great coffee. Have you ever thought about opening your own coffee shop?”
I declined. “Never crossed my mind.”
Letitia Sue wasn’t giving up. “Is it a money thing? Opening a coffee shop doesn’t cost that much. I could invest – I’d put up the capital, and you’d do the work. It’s better than being a little gardener, right?”
“That won’t be necessary, Ms. Sue. Is there something you need today?” I could tell Letitia Sue had something on her mind; she probably didn’t come here just to chat.
*Then i’ll just cut to the chase.” Letitia Sue smirked and interrogated me: “Eva Lynn, do Charles Gresham and Ryan Gresham have feelings for you? Have they been…
you a Intimate?”
So that’s what Letitia Sue is here for. I played dumb: “Intimate how?”
Letitia Sue raised her eyebrows suggestively: “You know… the horizontal tango.”
“No comment. I was ready to show her out. “Ms. Sue, I have a lot of pruning to do here. If you don’t mind, perhaps you should head back.
Letitia Sue’s face darkened, her previous gentle demeanor vanishing. “Eva Lynn, don’t push it. I’m the female lead of this story. You’re just a supporting character, and supporting characters can never replace the lead. Step aside and get out of the Gresham Family
