I leaned in, my voice low and firm. “You have no control over me anymore. No power, no authority, and no right to insult me. I’m done being your punching bag, and I’m done letting you belittle me. You can keep living in your delusions, but you’ll never put me down again.”
Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, but no words came out. For once, she didn’t have a cutting remark or a snide comment. She just stood there, glaring at me as if willing her words to hurt me–but they didn’t.
Not anymore.
I stepped back, adjusting my stance, and gave her a cold smile. “I suggest you focus on cleaning up the mess your son made instead of trying to blame me. Maybe then, you’ll find something more productive to do with your
time.”
Without waiting for a response, I turned and walked away. My heart was racing, but I felt lighter. Years of biting my tongue, enduring her insults, and letting her walk all over me were finally over.
She might still hate me, but I didn’t care. She wasn’t my problem anymore.
Returning to the Silver Crescent Pack as Alpha and Luna felt like stepping into a dream I never thought I’d have. Zephyr stood tall beside me, his presence radiating strength and warmth, and I finally felt like I belonged. The pack welcomed us with open arms, their cheers echoing through the air as we promised them peace, unity, and a future
free from the chaos.
But the best part? Lilith running straight into my arms, calling me “Mommy” without hesitation. She clung to me, her little arms tight around my neck, and I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. “You’re my real mommy now, right?” she asked, her big eyes filled with hope.
I kissed her forehead, smiling through my tears. “Forever and always, my little one.”
Life finally started to feel whole again. Days turned into weeks, and Zephyr and I worked together to strengthen the pack, rebuilding trust and mending wounds. Lilith brought joy to everyone with her mischievous giggles and curious questions, and every time she called me “Mommy,” my heart swelled.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in gold and pink hues, Zephyr led me to the edge of the pack’s sacred grove. He was unusually quiet, his hand warm and steady in mine. When we stopped, he turned to me, his eyes filled with an emotion so deep it made my breath catch.
“Lyra,” he began, dropping to one knee, “you’ve been my strength, my partner, and my love. You’ve endured much, yet you’ve come out of it stronger than ever. Will you marry me and make our family complete?”
I was already crying before he even finished. “Yes,” I whispered, then louder, “Yes! A thousand times yes!” He slipped the ring onto my finger–a beautiful silver band with a crescent moon and two small stars, representing us and Lilith. It was perfect, just like him.
Our wedding was magical, a celebration of love, resilience, and new beginnings. The entire pack turned up, cheering and laughing as we exchanged vows under the moonlight. Lilith walked down the aisle as our flower girl, throwing petals with giddy excitement. When Zephyr kissed me, sealing our bond not just as Alpha and Luna but as husband and wife, the pack erupted in howls of approval.

Months later, our family grew even bigger. I gave birth to twins–a boy and a girl. Lilith was ecstatic, declaring herself the “best big sister ever” while doting on her baby siblings. Zephyr couldn’t stop smiling, holding both babies in his arms as if the world had finally aligned in his favor.
Looking around at my family and my pack, I realized that every hardship, every betrayal, every moment of pain had led me to this: a life filled with love, strength, and peace. I was no longer the broken woman Xavier and Celeste had tried to destroy. I was a Luna, a mother, a fighter, and a survivor.
And finally, I was happy.
