Chapter 7: No To His Love (1)
I didn’t know how Lukas found me, but there he was. Standing in front of me like a ghost, his skin hanging off him, eyes bloodshot. He looked like he’d been living on the edge, like a wolf who had lost its pack and now only had desperation in its
eyes.
His presence smothered the air between us, and I could almost feel the weight of all his regrets pressing against me. But I wasn’t moved. Not anymore.
“Ayla,” his voice cracked like broken glass, “Why are you doing this to me? Do you have any idea what I’ve sacrificed? Everything I’ve done was for us, for you. And this is how you repay me?”
I stared at him, unblinking. “Sacrifice? You mean your lies and your cheating? That’s the price I should pay for your
‘sacrifice‘? You‘ re a fool, Lukas. A
damn fool.”

His eyes flickered with something close to pain. He took a step closer, voice low, pleading. “I never wanted to hurt you. Celeste… she means nothing to me. You’re the one I wanted. Always. You have to believe that.”
I didn’t move. My body was rigid, like a stone wall. “I don’t believe anything you say anymore. You had your chance, Lukas. You had seven years, and you threw it away for what? A quick fling with someone who doesn’t even care about you?”
He looked at me as if I were speaking a foreign language. “It wasn‘ t like that! She’s just-”
“Stop,” I snapped, cutting him off, “Just stop. I don’t want to hear your excuses. You made your bed, Lukas. Now, lie in it.”
He clenched his fists, visibly shaking. The control he’d once held over me was gone. I could see the panic in his eyes, the realization hitting him that I wasn’t the same woman he had left behind.

“Ayla, please,” he begged, his voice desperate now. “You can‘ t just walk away from all this. We had something real. I swear I’ll fix everything. We’ll get back to where we were
“No,” I said sharply, my voice a razor blade cutting through the air. “You‘ re delusional if you think I’ll fall for that again. I don’t care about your promises. They‘ re empty, just like you.”
His face twisted in fury, and he grabbed my arm, his fingers digging into my skin. “You think you can just walk away from me? You think I won’t destroy you like I did her?”
His words hit like a slap, but I didn’t flinch. I stood there, staring him down. There was no fear in me anymore. Only disgust.
“You think I care about your threats?” I spat. “Go ahead, destroy me. But make no mistake–you’re already ruined, Lukas. And I’m not saving you this time.”

I shoved him off, and he stumbled back, face red with rage. For a moment, I thought. he might hit me, but then he seemed to deflate, his shoulders sagging. It was like a switch flipped in his head. He wasn’t the confident, arrogant Alpha anymore. Now he was just a man, small and broken.
“You‘ re right,” he muttered, almost to himself. “I’ve ruined everything.” His voice was barely above a whisper, the rawness of his regret palpable. “I’m nothing without you.”
I laughed, but it wasn’t a sound of amusement. It was bitter. “You never were anything. I was the one holding us
together, Lukas. But now? You‘ re just a shadow of the man you thought you were.
And I’m done pretending I still care.”
