9.
I didn’t even bother giving them another glance.
Kieran let out a cold snort, came to me, and took my hand. “Let’s go!”
I was led into his sports car, his face still red from anger over what had happened.
“Nora, how could your ex–husband and daughter be so bad!”
“If you marry me, I’d never let you suffer such grievances!”
After saying this, he seemed to realize he’d said something wrong, his face turning
redder.
I cleared my throat. “Let’s head back to the company. I still have work to do.”
“No, to celebrate your divorce, I’ve prepared a surprise for you!”
I was taken to a private club, where our colleagues from the business trip were waiting.
Seeing me, they quickly pulled me and Kieran down to sit.
“They’ll be here later; let’s drink first!”
I felt there was something off about this, but Kieran kept pouring me drinks with a smile, saying his family insisted he look after the company’s new star employee.
Out of respect for the boss, I drank one glass after another.

I was nearly drunk when I asked, “Why aren’t they here yet?”
Kieran gave me an apologetic smile, then knelt in front of me, his face flushed.
“Nora, the woman I desire, I must have!”
“Since you got divorced today, being with me is allowed by both law and morality!”
I was shocked and wanted to push him away, but with all the alcohol, my head was spinning, and I couldn’t move him.
As I lost my last line of defense, I cursed inside.
I’ve never seen anyone get dragged off by a younger guy to a club and get… drunk on the day of their divorce.
Later, a group of colleagues came in and saw Kieran on top of me, cheering and demanding I take responsibility.
I frowned.
The boss appeared out of nowhere, laughing, “Nora, my son fell for you at first sight.”
“He’s my only son, and I want a capable daughter–in–law who can help him take over my business.”
“You, my son and I are very satisfied!”
“So, when do you plan to marry my son?”
I was dumbfounded.
I never thought I’d be played so thoroughly.
Kieran still looked at me with a shy smile.
“I don’t care; you’re the woman I want, so you must be with me. If you don’t agree, I’ll keep chasing you!”
I let out a heavy sigh and agreed to be Kieran’s girlfriend.
When Declan and Sierra showed up again, I was linking arms with Kieran, shopping for
wedding rings.
“My dad said, our family’s company and everything else will be ours, and if you want to be a rich lady at home, you can. I’ll earn money to support you.”
“Nora, what do you think we should name our future kids?”
I stayed silent for a long time. “Please, we only had that one time yesterday…”
Kieran grinned mischievously. “I know, but since you’re going to marry me, how about
staying with me tonight?”
Kieran had fully embraced the domineering CEO persona.
At this moment, Declan burst in with Sierra, grabbing my arm and shouting, “Nora, how can you marry him? You clearly love me so much…”
“Mom! Dad said you’re just pretending to divorce him, that you still want me and Dad,
right?”
Sierra grabbed me too.
I only felt disgust when I saw them now.
About to call the police, Kieran pushed him away and waved his hand.
Bodyguards rushed out from behind him.
