During the period of discussion with my parents, I had also gotten in touch with Fedrick and you could say that
we have become closer.
The next day, I stood before the mirror, smoothing the fabric of the dress my mother had chosen. The jewelry sparkled, catching the morning light, and the shoes clicked softly against the wooden floor as I moved. Today, I would meet Fedrick formally, and though apprehension simmered beneath the surface, I couldn’t help but think back to the fight.
The memory of it brought an unconscious smile to my face.
“It seems we’re getting somewhere,” my wolf teased, her voice light and amused.
For the first time in days, my smile felt real, a genuine flicker of warmth breaking through the cold fog of recent
events.
As I prepared to leave, I decided against taking my car, Fedrick had offered to pick me up, and I wanted to honor
I his gesture. Just as I reached for the door, it burst open with a loud crash.
Darius stormed in, his eyes blazing with fury

“What’s the meaning of this?” I demanded, my voice cold and unyielding.
Before I could react further, his hand struck my cheek, the sharp sting snapping my head to the side. My vision blurred momentarily, disbelief and fury flooding my senses,
I pressed a hand to my burning cheek, feeling the imprint of his fingers on my skin. Anger surged within me, hot and uncontainable. Without thinking, I swung my hand toward him, intent on returning the slap, but he caught my wrist mid–swing, his grip unyielding.
“Let me go!” I growled, my voice resonating with the authority of a wolf who would not be subdued.
His expression darkened. “You think I’ll just stand here while you play the victim? You’re the reason Selene lost
our child!”
His accusation hit me like a punch to the gut, but I refused to falter. My eyes narrowed, and I wrenched my wrist

AFTER FLJECTION THE OMEDARIES
“Are you out of your mind?” I shot back, my tone sharp enough to cut. “You’re blaming me for something I had
nothing to do with? If you want someone to blame, look in the mirror, Darius.”
His jaw tightened, his body trembling with suppressed rage. “She miscarried because of the stress you caused. You’ve been nothing but trouble since=”
“Since what?” I interrupted, stepping closer. My fury flared, and I refused to let him pin his pain on me. Since saved her life? If I hadn’t been there, Selene would be nothing but bones and tissue in a morgue right now. Instead of
thanking me, you barge in here with accusations you can’t even prove.”
His silence was deafening, his anger warring with doubt
“You want to stay blind, Darius? Go ahead. Keep blaming me if it makes you feel better,” I continued, my voice steady despite the storm raging inside me. “But don’t you dare come into my home and act like I owe you an explanation for something I didn’t do.”
For a moment, neither of us spoke, the tension between us crackling like a live wire
The air in my home felt tense, the lingering confrontation with Darius heavy in the space. Just as I steadied my breathing, the sound of footsteps reached my ears, followed by the scent of cedarwood and a hint of jasmine. My senses heightened, recognizing the calming presence of Fedrick before he even appeared in the doorway.
When he stepped in, his sharp suit caught the light, perfectly tailored to him, and his hands carried a bouquet of wildflowers. His gaze flickered between Darius and me, his brows furrowing as he took in the standoff.

“What’s going on here?” he asked, his voice firm but measured, his golden eyes locking onto
I glanced at him briefly, my wolf stirring inside me at his protective energy. His steady presence grounded me for
a moment
Darius turned his head sharply, taking in Fedrick’s clean–cut appearance and the formal clothes I wore. His expression darkened, and his voice dripped with disbelief. “Who’s this? Are you cheating on me now, Nia?”
I couldn’t help it–a laugh burst out of me, sharp and biting, laced with all the sarcasm I could muster. “Cheating on you? Don’t flatter yourself, Darius. We’ve been over for a long time. I don’t stoop to those levels. unlike you.” My wolf growled low in agreement, her disdain for him palpable
Darius flinched at my words, but I didn’t give him a chance to retort. I turned to Fedrick, my voice lighter as I spoke. “Fedrick, meet Darius, my ex. And Darius, meet Fedrick… my husband.”
Fedrick raised a brow slightly, but didn’t falter. He extended a hand toward Darius, his movements deliberate and calm, the mark of a wolf unbothered by petty drama. “Pleasure to meet you,” he said smoothly.
Darius didn’t respond, his jaw tightening as he stared at me. His disbelief morphed into anger, his voice rising. “Husband? What are you talking about, Nia? This has to be some kind of joke.”

AFTER REJECTION THE OMECARES
“It’s not a joke,” I said coldly, holding his gaze. “It’s real. And it’s none of your business anymore. Now, get out of my house, Darius.” My tone dropped, my wolf’s dominance threading through my words. “And don’t let me or anyone from your family catch you within a hundred meters of me again.”
Fedrick’s steady presence beside me only amplified my resolve.
Darius’s face twisted with fury. But he knew better than to challenge me further, especially since he didn’t have much information, nor could he do much with the presence of another Alpha, else his reputation would be at stake. Without another word, he turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
The silence that followed was deafening I exhaled slowly, letting the tension seep out of my shoulders.
