My lips curled into a bitter sneer at the thought of her. The girl I had always considered fragile, weak. Yet, somehow, she had taken everything from me. A part of me hated admitting it, but it was true. I had lost to her.
The weight of that realization settled over me like a heavy cloak, suffocating and inescapable. I buried my face deeper into my hands, letting out a shaky breath. Tears threatened to spill, but I refused to let them fall, Crying wouldn’t change anything. It wouldn’t bring back the Darius I knew, the Darius I loved.
I woke up to the harsh glare of sunlight streaming through the window. My head throbbed, and my eyes felt. swollen and gritty from the tears I’d shed through the night. The couch beneath me creaked as I shifted, my muscles stiff and aching from the awkward position I’d slept in.
day had been
For a moment, I lay there, staring at the ceiling, hoping–praying–that the events of the previous day a nightmare. But reality settled in like a cruel weight on my chest. Life didn’t pause for heartbreak. There were responsibilities to attend to, a world that wouldn’t stop turning just because mine had come crashing down.
As I sat up, a small thud drew my attention to the floor. Darius’s phone. It must’ve slipped off me while I slept
The sight of it sent a fresh wave of pain coursing through me, memories of him flooding back like a tide I
couldn’t hold back.
I picked it up, turning it over in my hands. The device felt cold, almost foreign, yet it was a piece of him. A part of the life he’d hidden from me.
ALTERRELETION THE OMEGA DIES
For a brief, fleeting moment, I considered throwing it out Tossing it into the trash where, frankly, it belonged. But that wasn’t me. Despite everything, I couldn’t stoop to his level.
With a deep breath, I made a decision. I called a local courier service to send the phone back to him. The sooner it was out of my sight, the better. Holding onto it felt like clinging to a wound, refusing to let it heal. Once the courier confirmed the pickup, I forced myself to move forward
A quick shower and an excessive amount of concealer later, I managed to look somewhat presentable.
The reflection staring back at me in the mirror was a shadow of who I used to be. My eyes were tired, my expression weary, but there was a flicker of determination in the depths of my gaze
One step at a time, I told myself. Life wouldn’t wait, and neither would !.
Inwardly, I already made a decision to leave. I didn’t deserve being treated like this, I knew my worth, even if he didn’t, i was more than aware that I didn’t need him

As I arrived at the company, the towering building of my company came into view. It wasn’t just a workplace, it
a symbol of my mother’s and my hard work–a dream we built together from nothing.
Unlike Darius, whose parents were the powerful Alphas of the Nightfang Pack, my life had never been easy. His world was one of privilege and legacy, while mine was a constant struggle
Darius’s family had always been at the top. His father was the pack Alpha, and his mother, the Luna, carried an air of grace and power,
Selene came from a similarly privileged background. Her father had been the Beta of the Nightfang Pack, and her mother had been best friends with the Luna. When Selene’s mother died, her father remarried
From what I’d heard, Selene’s stepmother wasn’t kind. People whispered that she treated Selene poorly, forcing her into situations no one should endure.
There were even rumors that she’d planned to marry Selene off to the Misac Pack–a group of rogues who’d redeemed themselves under the Lycan King.
My life, however, had been entirely different. My mother was a Beta, but a poor one, and my father had been an Alpha who abandoned us. When I was young, he left us and never looked back.
The divorce was messy, and I could still remember my mother crying late into the night, trying to hide her pain from me.
Watching her struggle broke something in me. I was just a small, weak omega back then, unsure of my place in the world. But I knew one thing: I wanted to protect her. The cruel words people threw at us because of my father’s betrayal only fueled my resolve.
When my mom decided to leave our old pack, she sought advice from the high priestess, who told her that moving to the Nightfang Pack would be safer for us. Here, no one knew us or our past
It was a chance to start over.
I built walls around myself to protect her–and myself–from the outside world. Over time, those walls became my reality. I wasn’t the same timid omega anymore. I became someone strong, someone who wouldn’t let anyone see her pain.
