Ashley’s POV
“Ashley, you bitch. Stay away from Jared. He’s mine.” Those were the words scribbled on the office mirror in red
ink when I arrived.
Because I spent a lot of time watching Jared‘ fireworks, I didn’t go to bed on time so I woke up a late and got to the office after most people had.
From the car park, someone had already told me there was a message waiting for me. I thought it would be something like a sweet parting gift from my colleagues.
Only for me to see those words written in thick both letters and dripping down the mirror to the sink. My colleagues were watching the mirror too. They said:
“You have to explain to us.”
“Yeah, who is Jared?”
“I don’t know?” I took a step away from the mirror.
He was dead to me.
“Ashley, we need to know why someone is coming after you if we’re going to do our best to protect you.”
My colleagues knew someone was stalking me and they tried to look out for me in their own way.
When it came to Sara, there was little anything could do to help. She also had strong ties with the mafia, having grown up in the same place as Jared.
“I think it’s just a prank from someone here.”
My colleagues continued.
“We already asked everyone. None of us did this. None of us would think of doing anything like this.”
“This is serious. You should be report to the police.”
Then we heard my bosses‘ voice. “Can I come in?”

We all looked around with fear on our faces. It would be very serious if our boss came in here and found what
was written on the mirror.
If someone in the office was responsible, he would fire them on the sport immediately.
“We’re trying to console Lacey. She just broke me her boyfriend.” One of my co–workers said.
I quickly grabbed some tissue and started scrubbing the mirrors while Lacey pretended to cry. My colleagues
helped me with wiping the stain while the rest trooped out and tried to get our boss to leave.
How for was Sara willing to go for lared?

After the Fireworks Faded
How far was Sara willing to go for Jared?
I returned to my table after lunch to find that someone had dropped a cake for me.
My colleagues were skeptical about the cake, especially after the scene in the toilet. The culprit couldn’t even be caught because the security cam footage was missing.
I took my time to open the cake and when I looked into the cake, I wished I had not opened it. It was a burn cake with my name written on the center of a Photo–shopped picture of me looking like I had just received the beating of a lifetime.
Just then, my boss walked past me quickly. I couldn’t close the cake quickly. Once he took one look at my face and the cake, he already knew what was going on.
“Ashley, my office now.”
I waited in his office until he returned, “Boss, you don’t have to make a big deal out of this.”
“I need you to go home while we investigate what happened.”
“It’s not that serious.”
“The night guard was shot. Please, I need you home safe and away from all this. Unless you can really tell me what’s happening with this cake”
“It’s just my ex–boyfriend’s girlfriend. She’s a little crazy but nothing to worry about.” I tried to sound like I believed Sara was harmless.
My boss shook his head, “It always starts with someone who’s just a little crazy.”
“I still have a couple of things I want to finish.”
“You’re leaving now or I’ll give you a suspension for refusing to listen.”
“Alright, you’re the boss.” I left the office after giving instructions for how the cake was to be destroyed.
I spent the afternoon shopping for a new traveling box and some essentials that I would need in the new city. Just as I bought my last item, I noticed a man following me. I hid from him in a shop close–by but as I did, I saw another man coming towards me.
At this point I knew I was target for these men.
I tried to enter a private alley beside the shop only for me to discover that there were already more men waiting for me in the alley.
I tried to run but the men caught me and then they bound me and pinned me to the floor. They put thick tape around my mouth to prevent me yelling.
I was only bound for a few minutes before my assailant arrived.
Sara arrived in a white car that she stopped right in front of the alley, blocking the view of anyone that would
pass.
She came to me with a dagger in her hand, “I warned you several times already.”
She ripped the tape off my mouth.
I screamed, “I literally broke up with him because of you.”
“Breaking up is not enough!” She laughed maniacally. “By the time I’m done with you, Jared wouldn’t even remember you exist.”
“Please, I won’t ever speak to Jared again.”
“I was going to marry him. And you stole him from me.”
“Please, Sara.”
“I have to punish you for keeping me away from my husband.”

After the Fireworks Faded
She swiped her dagger close to my face as she knelt beside me. Then she ran the tip of the cold dagger across by jawline.
“I’m going to cut your face into an unrecognizable shape. Then, my men are going to break your voice box so that you can’t say a single word. When they’re done, you’ll be packaged and delivered. I already have a man who needs a sex slave, and I think you’re the perfect fit.”
