“What happened?” I asked, panting as I entered the hospital.

Raina frowned when she saw me, “What are you doing here? I told them not to call you.”
I shrugged, “The nurse called me and told me so I’m here. Why would you want to hide this information from
Raina sighed, “I’ve already caused enough trouble between you and Freya. I didn’t want to make it worse by
interrupting your conversation with her today”
I sighed, Raina was so sincere, if only Freya could see how vulnerable she was she would know that Raina had nothing against us being together.
“It’s alright. Freya is pretty pissed off at me and it has nothing to do with you,” I stated
Raina smiled, “Don’t try to make me feel better. I know she’s upset with me because I ruined your wedding. If I was in her shoes I’d be upset too.”
“Til handle Freya. You just focus on getting better. I told you not to stress much,” I said.
Raina held my hands and smiled, “Thank you so much for looking after me. At least now I know I can always
count on you even though I have no one.”
“Don’t say that. As long as I’m alive you’ll always have me,” I promised
She smiled and kissed my knuckles, “I need to rest now
I nodded as I stepped outside. I needed to see the doctor and know how long her legs would take to heal now. I was surprised to see my grandmother lurking in the hallways,
“Grandma, what are you doing here?” I asked her, surprised.
She stared at me with a frown, “You foolish kid.
I sighed, “What did I do again, Grandma?”
“What didn’t you do? Why would you let Freya down like that? And instead of you being with her, you’re here with this pretender.”
I frowned, “What do you mean by that, Grandma? Raina is hurt.”
“Freya is hurt too. Have you ever had a proper conversation with her since you left her standing at the altar?”
With the way my grandmother spoke I felt terrible. And I realized I’ve been acting shitty toward Freya espe after I left her at the altar.
“I haven’t been able to speak with Freya. She keeps pushing me away. She’s blocked me and today she slammed the door in my face,” I said.
“Have you thought of who kept getting in the way?” my grandmother asked me.
I frowned, “Aside from Raina being injured nothing else.”
She gave me a knowing look and my eyes widened slightly.
“It’s not Raina’s fault. She’s not doing it intentionally,” I said
My grandmother scoffed, “Why don’t you go pay Freya a visit again and you’ll be getting another call soon.”
I didn’t want to believe what my grandmother was saying but I was intent on proving her wrong.
“How do I do that? Freya has refused me to come to her,” I said.
My grandmother smirked, “I may have called her and told her I was rushed here. The nurses actually did.”
I frowned,” You lied?”
My grandmother scoffed, “Oh please! The same way your lovely Raina has been lying.”
I sighed, “Fine. I’ll find Freya if that’s all it will take to get you off Raina’s back.”
I headed toward the reception and I saw Freya standing there looking around and asking questions about my grandmother.
I walked up to her and she acted like I wasn’t even standing beside her. My heart ached, Freya was my world when did we drift apart to this extent?
“Please, I just need five minutes,” I said to her.
“I’m here for Sarah only” she said

I shook my head, “Grandma is fine. She just brought you here for me.”
Freya had a defeated expression on her face as she turned to me.
“Five minutes, make it count.”
“Let’s go somewhere quiet,” I said to her.
I led her to the garden and we sat down on the bench. I tried to reach out to her but she pulled away. I bowed my head in my hands.
“I’m so sorry, Freya. I’ve been acting like an asshole meanwhile I hurt you terribly. I’ve just been so stupid as to not see how hurt you are. Please, Freya, I love you. Give me a chance to make it up to you.”
There was a startled expression on Freya’s face but before she could reply my phone rang. My eyes widened when I saw it was Raina calling.
