The drizzle continued to fall softly, its quiet rhythm echoing in the car as they drove away.
In the rearview mirror, the image of Elias faded into the distance, becoming more and more blurred until it disappeared completely. Frederick finally spoke, his voice calm yet filled with a quiet sincerity. “Mira, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’ll tell you everything, no secrets.”
Mira didn’t seem particularly affected by the events that had just unfolded. She turned her gaze out the window, voice steady as she replied, “I don’t need to know anything. If he didn’t appear in my notebook, then he’s not worth remembering”
She was resolute. The past, with all its confusion and heartache, no longer held her. All that mattered now was the happiness she found in the present.
Frederick nodded, respecting her decision, “Okay. If you ever want to know more, you can ask me anytime.”
In the following days, they visited several tourist spots and went to Johns Hopkins Hospital Hospital for Mira’s post–surgery check–up. The doctor assured them that all her health indicators were normal
Afterward, they went to a nearby shopping mall to pick up some gifts for their friends in the UK.
As they passed through the revolving door, Mira’s eyes were immediately drawn to a wedding company poster, its vibrant themes of wedding venues catching her attention.
“Would you like to take a look?” Frederick asked softly, noticing her interest. He gently took her hand, guiding her
inside.
The shopping guide greeted them warmly, handing over a thick brochure filled with pictures of elegant weddings.
Frederick’s family was all in Maryland, so their wedding–planned for the end of the year–would take place here in the city. Mira flipped through the brochure, and after some consideration, she agreed with Frederick that the “Starry Sky” theme was the most beautiful.
“There are more options here,” the shopping guide said, handing them another booklet that featured real wedding scenes and candid shots of brides and grooms.
Mira casually flipped through the pages. As she was about to decline, her eyes froze on a familiar face. It was the
man who had claimed to be her husband.
In the photo, he was smiling brightly, holding a petite, cute girl in his arms. They were dressed in wedding attire -him in a sharp suit, her in a pure white gown. They exchanged rings, shared a kiss, and radiated happiness.
“Mira!”
A voice cut through the moment, sharp and desperate. Mira looked up in surprise to see Elias approaching, a group of people trailing behind him. He rushed forward, calling her “sister–in–law.”
Panic and frustration were etched across his face as he grabbed her arm. “You can’t marry Frederick! The person you’ve always loved is me! I’m your husband!”
Mira stared at the photo in her hand, then slowly raised her gaze to meet Elias‘. Her expression was unreadable.
“Mira,” he pleaded, his voice trembling with emotion. “Please, remember me. Please.”
He was nearly beside himself. How could Mira, the woman he thought he knew so well, casually visit a wedding company with another man, smiling and looking so at ease?
She can only be his, Elias“, wife in this life, and she can remarry even if she divorces!
She can’t abandon him just because of a temporary amnesia now.
“Yes, Mira! Did you have a quarrel with Captain Sullivan? You used to cook for us, and we envied Captain Sullivan for having such – besutiful and vichuque wife lilaumu ”

for having such a beautiful and virtuous wife like you.”
“Sis, I heard that you were sick. People shouldn’t make impulsive judgments when they lose their memory Your will definitely regret it when your memory recovers.”
“Mira, we are high school classmates. We also attended your wedding with Elias. We all admire your stable relationship.”
“Yes, you went abroad for surgery without saying a word, and you forgot about Elias. He missed you every day
this year…”
The group of people talked at once, and more and more passers–by watched. They whispered and looked at Mira with complicated eyes
The next second, a video suddenly played on the LED screen of the mall
The picture was a little blurry, and the background sound was very noisy, but it was vaguely clear that the protagonists were Elias and Mira.
