1 looked Tyler straight in the eye and gently took his hand. “Tyler, Dad has already forgiven me. If I continue to work for him, William Enterprises will be ours to manage in a few years. But if you actually let Jessica have a child, how do you think Dad will react? He won’t trust the company with someone like her, particularly since she’s a foreigner. If he gets upset enough, he might even give everything to my cousin, Colin.”%
I could see the hesitation in his eyes, so I continued, “You’ve got to think about my reputation, too. If you have a kid with her, what’s everyone going to say? They care about family background more than anything. It’ll be a stain on the Scott name.“%
Tyler’s expression softened, I could tell I was starting to make headway with him.
Taking that advantage, I gently patted his hand. “Look, this whole thing between you and her is just a temporary distraction. I know you can’t ignore the legacy that the Scott family has built over the years. Let Jessica have an abortion, and I won’t bring up the issue of her taking company funds. Just give her some money, send her back to her country, and we’re done. I’ll find someone else for surrogacy. There are plenty of women out there. And if I’m okay with it, you can still have your heir, right?”

Finally, he nodded slowly. “Alright, baby. I’ll do what you say. You really know how to think things through.”
I smiled faintly. “I’m your wife, Tyler. It’s my responsibility to handle things like this. Not giving you an heir is on me, isn’t it?“%
Later that evening, Tyler was unusually gentle with me.
He brought me all my favorite foods: clam chowder, tater tots, and shrimp croquettes. He stayed with me the entire night, ignoring Jessica’s calls and refusing to see her.

After Tyler left, I freshened up. I wasn’t in the mood, but I knew I had to face Jessica. So, I decided to visit her at the hospital.
When I knocked on her door, Jessica opened it almost immediately, barefoot and rushing toward me like we were long–lost friends. “Darling, I’ve missed you so much…”
Her voice trailed off as she dramatically adjusted her strapless dress, sticking out her chest like I was supposed to be impressed.”

She gave me a wary look. “What do you want? Where’s Tyler? I’m telling you, if you lay a finger on me, Tyler won’t let you get away with it.”2
Then I saw that smug, brief glint in her eye.
I couldn’t help but reply, “Jessica, do you really think you’re some treasure? Do you even remember what your life was like before all this?“}
She stuck out her growing belly, clearly trying to get a rise out of me. “There’s an old saying: A hero is not judged by his origins. I’m carrying Tyler’s child, and he is going to be the future heir of the Scott Group. So from now on, I am Mrs. Scott.”/
She gave me that pompous smile like she’d just won something. “Even without a kid, Tyler can’t leave me. I make him fall in love with me again and again. I give him the dignity of being a man. Can you do that? You, a dried–up fish… Honestly, I’m not sure you could even keep a man satisfied.”
I stared at her, amusement flickering in my eyes.
She was stuck in the shallowest possible mindset, completely missing the point of what really keeps someone’s attention.”
In high society, it wasn’t just about looks or physical prowess. Intelligence and the ability to captivate a person’s mind were what truly mattered. But I wasn’t going to waste my breath explaining that to her. She was too caught up in all the superficial nonsense.
With a calm smile, I reached into my pocket, pulled out my phone, and turned on the recorder containing Tyler’s voice.”
I placed it in front of her, observing her closely.
At first, Jessica seemed suspicious, but as she listened, her face changed. The look of superiority slowly faded as she began to panic. Her eyes widened, and before I knew it, she was screaming in fury and lunging toward me.”
“It’s impossible! You’re the one who pushed him, right? Tyler always says he loves my wild side and passion. He’ll never leave me!” she yelled, her voice cracking with desperation.
I stepped back, calmly opening the door and allowing the bodyguards to enter.”
They quickly stepped forward and restrained her as she continued to scream. “You conniving bitch, how dare you manipulate Tyler!“} Sympathetically, I patted her cheeks. “I’ll give you a chance. Talk to Tyler yourself. Let him tell you the truth. You’ll know then whether I was the one who encouraged him.”%
