I needed a paternity test.
Seeing that Frank was about to leave, I hurriedly grabbed him.
The sudden pull caused him to stumble and fall onto the stairs. He got up and glared at me angrily.
“What are you doing?”
Gritting my teeth, I said, “You’re not going anywhere right now. You‘ re coming with me to the hospital first.”
“Enough! Are you insane?” Frank’s face was filled with frustration, but what
shocked me even more was when he
turned around and slapped me hard across
the face.
I was stunned. Never in my wildest dreams

My eyes instantly welled up with tears and a surge of deep resentment rose in my heart. I couldn’t hold back any longer and slapped him right back.
“You dare hit me?” Frank clutched his face, utterly shocked. In his memory, I had always been weak and easily bullied in front of Victor. I had never even raised my voice at him, let alone hit him.
With reddened eyes, I shouted, “Frank,
even a dog knows better than to bite its
master! I can’t believe I wasted so many years raising you!”
“You dare call me a dog?”
He opened his mouth to hurl more insults at me, but as soon as he turned his head, his expression instantly lit up with joy. He shouted toward the doorway. “Dad! Erin! You’re finally here! This wretch just hit
me!”
At that moment, Victor walked in slowly, his arm wrapped intimately around Erin’s

shoulders, with a look of joy on his face.
But as soon as he heard Frank’s words, his expression twisted with fury. “Liane, how dare you hit Frank? You must be tired of living!”
Victor stormed over, his rage palpable and slapped me hard across the face.
From this close, I could clearly see the kiss
marks on his chest.
The blatant betrayal stabbed deeper into my heart than the sting on my face ever could.
