Rosalie struggled to help him onto the bed in the room and lay him down.
Woman… What’s your name? he asked weakly, his breath faint.
My name is Rosalie Young.
Rosalie… Young… he repeated her name, his breathing growing weaker, and slowly closed his eyes.
Seeing him fall asleep, Rosalie reached out to feel his forehead for temperature.
She turned and noticed a bathroom in the room. She tiptoed over. After a while, Rosalie emerged with a basin filled with warm water and a towel. Rosalie wrung out the towel and gently wiped the blood off Vincent’s body.
He had many scars-some deep, some shallow, some long, and some short, along with a few resembling gunshot wounds.
He must get hurt often. What exactly did he do? Was he involved with gangs as well? But he seemed different from typically ruthless characters. Rosalie washed the towel several times, the water in the basin turning red. She poured it out and replaced it with a fresh basin of water.
Rosalie changed the water four times before she managed to clean Vincent’s upper body. Then, she covered him with a blanket. At least he could sleep comfortably now.
Just then, her phone vibrated in her pocket.
Rosalie took out her phone and saw it was a call from Sebastian. She quickly answered.
Reaching the living room, she said, Hello, Seb.
Rose, are you coming back? Sebastian had been waiting for nearly three hours.
Don’t worry, Seb, I’m fine. I might be returning a bit late, she replied. Only then did she remember that she forgot to call Sebastian to inform him. Where have you been?
Sebastian, I’m safe now. I just wanted some time alone.
She couldn’t just leave; at the very least, she had to wait for Vincent to wake up before making a decision.
Are you really alone? Rose, tell me the truth. Did you go to find Theodore?

Rosalie replied with a soft Yes.
Mentioning this made her heart ache, but she tried to keep her tone normal. So, it’s impossible for me and Theodore to reconcile. You don’t have to worry about me. I just want to be alone for a while. I might find a hotel to stay in tonight.
She couldn’t tell Sebastian that she faced danger tonight. Otherwise, he would be scared to death.

I know. Seb, I just want to be by myself right now. I don’t want to affect you with my negative emotions. Give me some time; I’ll be back. Please help me take care of Steve.
She felt a bit embarrassed asking him to take care of Steve since Sebastian had always been the one helping her with it. She was grateful for Sebastian’s support during her most difficult times.
Sebastian said, Don’t worry, I’ll take
good care of him. If you need some time alone, it’s fine. Just take your time, but let’s stay in touch. I need to know you’re safe to be at ease, alright?
Rosalie replied softly, Okay. I’ll call you tomorrow morning. I’m feeling a bit tired now and want to rest.
Okay, get some rest early. As long as Rosalie was safe, Sebastian felt relieved. He had been worried about her being with Theodore.
He felt a mix of surprise and joy
upon finding out that Theodore’s girlfriend was pregnant. With this, Theodore was entirely out of the picture. No one could compete with him for Rosalie now, which was wonderful.
As long as he gave Rosalie enough space, she would eventually be his woman.
