Darme POV
“You were too late, i told Azalea, I left the front door and walked back into the study room.
“I came back as fast as I could,” Azalea replied. He was right behind me.
“Not fast enough, Azalea,
I swear that I was.”
“ENOUGH!” I yelled.
I was raging mad, not at Azalea but at myself. If only I hadn’t made the choice with the devil and waited for a while, Azalea would be back and give me the information I needed. But impatience and foolishness clouded my senses.
I closed my eyes and took a big breath before collapsing into the chair in my study, I placed my head into my palms.
“I just bargained with Ryker,”
“Ryker? Azalea asked.
“Yes, and he made me choose between Mason and the Pack. The fucking irony,”
Kzalea opened his mouth but closed it back. “We both don’t like this pack, I know that and I know we’re working too hard for a pack we don’t like but tell me you chose Mason,”

Angela brought me to my knees. She stole my heart a long time ago and never gave it back. She has the whole of me and the one thing I owe her was staying alive as long as she was alive.
“You also have to be safe, Nibbles,” she hit my chest at the nickname I called her.

She was so close to tears and I could see she was struggling not to cry.
“You have nothing to be scared of. I’ll be back even before you know it,”
“What if something happens? How am I supposed to know you’re fine?”
I placed a finger on the mark that was on her neck. “You have my mark, if something happens to me, you’ll feel it,”
She took a deep breath. “Hopefully I won’t feel something. I hope I won’t,” she muttered repeatedly.

She wrapped her hands around my neck and we hugged tightly for the next few minutes.
“Is there anything you want me to do for you before you leave? Maybe pack a few snacks or water or stuff,”
I raised an eyebrow, then shook my head. “Nothing like that but I need you to listen, baby,”

“Once I leave by morning, there’ll be some crazy and unexpected changes. You’ve found out about one already, Daisy will the Luna but not my Luna and it’s for a reason. I don’t want you to be shocked but I want you to hold own the fort in your own way. There’s a piece of me inside of you. You might not know it but it’s right there. You just have to stay safe till I get back and trust me. I can’t say much because I don’t know if it’s safe to say anything yet,”
“Okay. Can you answer this question of mine? I’m not going to be curious about anything other than that,”

“You can be curious about everything baby. I’ll tell you some now and others later when I’m able to,”
“Can you tell me then why you decided to make Daisy the acting Luna?”

“She’s a member of the Resistance group. I’m making her Luna to make her and the other members feel wanted at least once in their miserable life,”
