Peacefield was a small town that was a bit behind the times. It was not where you’d find many rich folks, but it did have a car repair shop.
It had been thirty minutes. Wayne Garcia was getting restless, waching the mechanics in the shop struggling. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration clear. “Can any of you guys fix this or not?”
He thought, “This place has such rough roads that even the toughest cars can break down. There’s no car dealership around to get a new one, and waiting for a ride takes ages.
‘Calling a helicopter would be too much. The only option is to tow it here for repairs. I just can’t figure out why my grandpa chose to live in this backward little town.‘
Kevin Leach, one of the staff, wondered, “This guy has a handsome face, and his purple suit is definitely eye–catching. Inside the car, someone is still sitting there. His charm can easily rival our boss.
Just going by their outfits and attitude, plus the million–dollar car, it’s obvious these two are not average folks. Kevin apologized and said, “Sorry. Our boss will be right here.”
‘Boss?‘ Wayne thought and raised an eyebrow. ‘Does a small–town repair shop really need a boss?‘ He tapped his finger on the
backseat window.
The window rolled all the way down, revealing a profile that could stop anyone in their tracks. Silas Faulkner had an air of class and asked, “What’s the issue?”
Wayne lit a cigarette and suggested, “It’s not that far. How about we just walk?” He knew if they kept waiting, it’d be dark
soon.
Silas turned his head, his high nose bridge and deep eyes captivating. His thin lips were pressed in cold defiance, and his handsome features had a hint of aloofness. His voice was calm, with a lazy drawl. “What’s the rush?”
Wayne was helpless. He wondered, ‘It’s just a ten–minute walk from here. I suspect this guy simply doesn’t want to walk. What a pampered guy!‘
“You’re the boss. Your call,” Wayne conceded, opened the car door, and got back in.
“Boss!” At that moment, a shout came from outside, and the guys from the repair shop all came out to greet their boss.
Wayne instinctively looked outside and couldn’t help but widen his eyes. “Whoa…” he exclaimed.
Silas slightly furrowed his brow, about to roll up the window, but his eyes sharpened as he caught a figure walking up in the rearview mirror.
Walking toward them was Lenore, a tall girl dressed in black casual clothes, with her long hair draped over her shoulders. She had a laid–back vibe, with an attitude that seemed to disregard everything. Even in her cheap flip–flops, she exuded an aura of confidence.
Her features were incredibly beautiful, and her skin appeared to be glowing under the sun, like a glimpse of spring hidden in the heart of autumn.
“What car?” Lenore asked, her voice lazy yet clear as a bell.
Kevin pointed at the Bentley parked out front and whispered, “This car starts at over a million. We checked it out but didn’t

see anything wrong, so we didn’t dare mess with it.” If they broke it, they couldn’t afford to fix it.
‘It’s uncommon to see a luxury car in this area, Lenore thought. She squinted when she noticed the license plate. Redirecting her gaze, she pulled a hand out of her pocket and hed it out to Kevin. “Wrench.” Kevin quickly handed her one.
Silas had striking features, his eyes like stars, exuding a cold, aristocratic charm that seemed unreachable. When Lenore walked over and saw him, she raised an eyebrow, tossing the wrench playfully and flashing a mischievous grin.
Wayne was still captivated by Lenore’s beauty and was in a daze. Are you their boss?”
Lenore glanced at him with a frosty look. “Who else did you think?” Her tone was cocky and very confident. Wayne was lost for words. ‘Since when did mechanics look this good? What a waste,‘ he thought to himself. Lenore clicked her tongue, tapped the car’s body lightly with the wrench, and said to the people inside, “Get out.” Wayne, who had just gotten in the car, got out silently. Silas raised his eyebrows slightly, closed the laptop on his lap, and followed him out.
Silas was tall and stylish, wearing a black silk shirt and looking cool and restrained. As Lenore walked by him, a faint scent of sandalwood came from him, fresh and pleasant.
Lenore didn’t look at him, however. Rolling her sleeves up to her elbows and showing her slender arms, she opened the car hood and started working with the wrench, tapping and taking things apart, making loud noises, and she wasn’t holding back at all
Wayne couldn’t help but twitch his lips. “Are you sure you know how to fix cars? I just bought this one yesterday for a few million!”
Lenore looked up at him, her delicate features full of defiance, with a cheeky grin. “Even if it’s worth billions, it’s still just a pile of junk when it’s broken, right?”
Wayne didn’t know what to say. He wondered, ‘She’s right, and I can’t argue. But judging by the way she behaves and the fact that she looks young, she doesn’t look much like someone who fixes cars.’
He turned to look at Silas who was standing next to him. “I have a feeling this car is going to be ruined.”
Lenore bent one leg, placing her foot on the car, while her other slender leg supported her on the ground. As she moved, a black smart band of unknown material on her left wrist occasionally spun around.
As she leaned over, her shirt lifted, showing a bit of her slim waist, smooth and delicate as if it could break with just a pinch.
Silas’s throat inexplicably moved, his eyes deepening. His attractive lips curved into a relaxed smile as he chuckled and muttered, “Pretty wild.”
Wayne was confused about his words.
