The Forgotten Luna (Adessa) – Chapter 59

The Forgotten Luna (Adessa)

LADESSA.

Sasha came, and I felt out of place right away because she made it seem she knew Kael more than I did. Or maybe I was just overthinking things, as they obviously knew each other way before I existed in Kael’s life. But to be fair with Kael, he made it a point to include me in their conversation or at least explain things when Sasha would throw remarks or tell a story like it was their little secret.

Maybe I was just being jealous, but I couldn’t help it. It seemed every female I encountered these days was, in one way or another, related to Kael and had a past with him.

“More drinks?” Sasha approached and filled Kael’s glass with red wine. Kael was sitting beside me, his arm resting on the back of my chair so his skin was brushing against the back of my neck.

“Tell me, you really don’t drink?” Kael asked as Sasha sat back on her chair in front of us. The three of us were seated at the dining table while Erika took four-year-old Gabe, Sasha’s son, for a bath before bed. I shook my head in response, our eyes just staring at each other.

That was a lie. I did drink. But since Kael didn’t have any memories of us together, I felt it was safer to lie than to explain why I didn’t want to drink.

I was not sure if I was pregnant, and I wouldn’t be taking risks.

I smiled at him sweetly before caressing his cheek because I could feel the hair on my skin standing. Sasha must be staring at me with dagger eyes. “You’re drunk already. Don’t drink more, or you might pass out and…”

“Will you take care of me when I get too drunk?” Kael cut me off from talking, and his eyes were twinkling. He was definitely drunk. That was their second bottle of wine.

“I always take care of you when you’re drunk.” This time, I answered from the heart, not because I was showing off.

“I must be really lucky.” His head dropped down, and his nose nuzzled my neck, sending a shiver of pleasure down my spine. “You smell so sweet.”

Typical drunk Kael.

He was drunk, but I was sure he still knew what he was doing. He just couldn’t control his actions and his mouth.

“No more drinking.” I reminded him because his hand on the table was about to lift the wine glass again. I took the wine glass from him and moved it where he couldn’t reach it.

“Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you are mothering your ex-husband.” Sasha said sarcastically.

I wanted to roll my eyes at her. Unfortunately for me, she was able to see the news stating Kael and I were already divorced, and she made it a point to always point that out.

“I need him sober tomorrow,” I answered nicely.

“I’m sure he just needs sleep, and he’ll be fine.” She then scoffed as she played with her glass. “I’m surprised you have no idea how he reacts after drinking.”

“He’ll be fine, but he’ll have a headache. He just came out of a coma, so I’m sure excessive drinking and head pains are not good for him.” I was still smiling, even if I wanted to glare at her.

Of course, I knew he could still function well after drinking, but he told me that the last time he drank-the day after he woke up and after we had sex-he had a terrible headache the next day.

“Yup.” Kael chuckled. “I need to be sober because my lovely wife can’t drive a car. We might end up in a ditch if I let her drive tomorrow.” Kael added before he began sucking my neck.

If this was another time, I would have asked him to behave, but I was feeling wicked tonight, so I just let him while my hand on his thigh brushed against his leg, like I was telling him I was enjoying what he was doing. “She’s no longer your wife.” Sasha reminded us.

“She is…” Kael mumbled, and I ended up staring at Sasha.

I didn’t stop myself from raising my brows. I was silently daring her to

say more, and I wouldn’t stop my

mouth this time, especially sincenet

Kael was already shoving it on her face that he was with me her.

“Mommy!” Gabe’s voice rang in the air as little footsteps approached.

I tapped Kael’s thighs before adjusting his head and playfully glaring at him. “Behave. Gabe is here.”

He chuckled, and it made my heart flutter. He was really handsome and charming with those glassy eyes and an extra broad smile.

“He wants to say goodnight before going to bed.” Erika smiled as she leaned against the wall, her arms crossed, while she looked at all of us.

Gabe kissed and hugged his mother before Sasha whispered to him, but it was loud enough for us to hear. “Go say goodnight to Daddy Kael.”

My eyes rolled. I was not able to stop it. The good thing was that I was facing Kael, and he was the only one who had seen it. He tapped my nose as if reminding me to behave. “He’s not my Daddy,” Gabe replied in a whisper as his shoulders slumped. And it broke my heart. Why would Sasha tell him that when he was not asking for it? Of course, I knew the answer.

“He’s family.” She told him. “I’m sure it’s okay with him. Go now.”

Gabe came over to our side, his smile broadening as he saw me. He was really cute with deep dimples, but before he could approach me, Kael already called him. “Come here, kid.” “I want to go to Adessa first.” He said, pouting, but he went to him.

“You can call me Papa Kael. I don’t mind.” He ruffled his hair, and I saw Gabe’s face lit up until he added more. “And you can call her Mama Adessa. I’m sure your mom won’t mind.” “No. I don’t want that.” Gabe pouted again.

“Why?” Kael asked.

“She’s going to be my wife.”

“Ha ha!” Kael chuckled before ruffling his hair again. “Nice try, kid. She’s my wife.”

“Grammy said you’re almost ten years older than Adessa. So I know you’ll die before her, and then she’s allowed to marry again. I’ll be big then.”

“Aren’t you too smart for your age? But nope. You can’t go around stealing someone’s wife. Find your own woman.”

I giggled softly. How I wanted to repeat the last part to his mother.

“You can say goodnight to Mama

Adessa,” Kael told him, emphasizing the Mama. “But behave. Because I’m

watching you.” He pointed two

fingers near his eyes, then directed

them toward Gabe.

Gabe laughed heartily, warming my heart, before they hugged each other again. He then turned around to say goodnight to me, addressing me as Mama, much to his mother’s annoyance.

After Gabe and Erika left, I told

Sasha that Kael and I were going to

bed. Of course, she tried to stop us and told me if I was sleepy, I could go ahead. I was glad Kael butted in and told her that he was tired and wanted to rest. Because if not, I right have slipped some sarcastic reply to her.

I had to keep reminding myself that we were in their home, but she was really irritating me.
