Alpha Killian's Rejected Luna

Chapter 36
Adeline West
My heart swelled with relief as I saw my children running towards me, their faces lighting up with joy. Sebastian’s gamma, Chase, had just arrived with them, and I couldn’t thank him enough for ensuring their safe journey. Tristan, though still a bit weak, managed a brave smile as he hugged me tightly.
“Mommy!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement and a touch of lingering weakness,
I kneeled down, holding both Tristan and Bridget close. “I’m so glad you’re here. How was the trip?” I asked, looking at them.
“It was good,” Tristan said, looking up at me with wide eyes. “I’m feeling better, Mom. Really, I am.” He said.
Bridget nodded in agreement, her little hands clutching at my dress. “We missed you, Mommy.” She said, in her sweet voice.
I kissed their foreheads, feeling a wave of gratitude. “I missed you too, my loves”
I turned to Mary. “Thank you for taking care of them,” I said.

“Please don’t thank me, dear; you know how much I love taking care of them.” She said,
I turned to Chase. “Thank you so much for bringing them here.
He nodded, his expression serious. “Anything for the Alpha’s family. Take care, Adeline.” He said.
As Ethan and the Chase left to handle the pack in Sebastian’s absence, I sat down with Mary, who had been eagerly waiting to hear about the meeting. “How did it go, Adeline! Tell me everything.” She asked.
I took a deep breath, remembering the tense atmosphere and the heated arguments that had filled the meeting room. “It was intense, Mary. Sebastian presented the video evidence, and Laurel had her own counterarguments. Killian is standing by her, of course, but Samuel Volkov, Killian’s grandpa, and one of the elders seem to be on our side.” I said.
“And what about the other elders? Do you think they’ll make a fair decision?” She asked.
I hope so, I replied. “Samuel suggested that we stay here until the matter is resolved, and although I was hesitant at first, it, seems like the best option for now.” I said.
Sebastian, who had been quietly playing with the kids, joined us at the table. “We’ll get through this, Adeline. We just need to stay strong.” He said.
Before I could respond, we were surprised by a knock on the door. It was Greta, Mary’s sister, carrying a tray of freshly baked cookies. Her face lit up with a warm smile as she saw us.
“Adeline! It’s been too long. I’m so happy to see you” She said, walking over to us. I heard you were here, and I couldn’t resist bringing some treats.”
“Greta!” I exclaimed, getting up to hug her. “It’s been ages.” I said, so happy to meet her. “Thank you for coming. You didn’t have to bring all this,” 1 said.
She laughed, setting the tray down on the table. “Nonsense! I wanted to. And I’ve been dying to meet your little ones.” She said, turning to the kids. “Goddess, they’re so adorable.” She said,

The kids, drawn by the smell of cookies, came over to see what Greta had brought. “Cookies” Bridget squealed, her eyes wide with excitement.
Greta handed each of them a cookie, her smile widening. “There you go, sweethearts. Enjoy” She said,”

Chapter 36
We all sat down, the lemon of the past few days easing a bit in the warmth of familiar company. Greta and 1 caught up, talking about old times and sharing stories. Although we had kept in touch over the phone, seeing her in person was a
welcome comfort
Π
“So much has changed,” Greta said, her tone reflective. “But you’ve done amazingly well, Adeline. I’m so proud of you.” She added, her tone was filled with pride.
“Thank you,” I replied, feeling a lump in my throat. “It hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for the support I’ve had.” I said.
We spent the evening talking and laughing, with the children playing happily nearby. For a little while, the weight of the ongoing conflict lifted, replaced by the simple joy of bring with loved ones.
As the day drew to a close, I found myself feeling more at peace than I had in a long time. While I put my kids to bed, I lay beside them, reading them bedtime stories.
“Mommy, are we going to stay here for long?” Tristan asked suddenly,
I turned to him, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead, Just for a little while, sweetie. Until everything gets sorted out.” I said, kissing his forehead.
The soft glow of the light cast gentle shadows on their beautiful, sleeping faces. I smoothed their blankets and kissed them goodnight before quietly slipping out of their room.
My footsteps were soft on the plush carpet as I made my way to the room, which was beside my kids room. I reached the nightstand and reached out naturally for my water mug, only to realize it wasn’t there. A pang of homesickness hit me, I was used to having my mug of water within arm’s reach as I slept. I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the unseling feeling of not being in my own space.
Deciding that I needed some water, I headed to the kitchen. The corridors of Killian’s mansion were vast and intricately decorated, and each step seemed to echo louder in the emptiness of the house. The beauty of the place, while impressive, was beginning to feel suffocating. Everything I endured here was rushing through my mind
As I approached the kitchen, my mind was preoccupied with the events of the day–the meeting, the arguments, and the stark realization of the ongoing conflict. I was reaching for a glass when I suddenly bumped into a hard, solid chest.
A gasp escaped my lips as the force of the impact sent me stumbling backward, but before I could hit the floor, strong arms. wrapped around me, holding me in place when the familiar scent of cologne filled my nose. I stilled; the warmth of the body holding me made my heart race, and I felt the touch familiar, I looked up, and my eyes locked onto the pair of gray-
piercing eyes,
Killian Volkov.
