Freya turned to the maid standing by and said, “Sandra, book a hotel for Ms. Orson. She can stay as long as she likes. Let’s just be clear about the guest and host here. Right, Ms. Orson?”
Freya didn’t miss the look Kara gave her just then.
After Freya spoke up, Kara’s face was filled with panic. She looked pleadingly at Johanna, who immediately snapped, “Oh, look at you, Freya! Are you flexing your muscles as the lady of the house already? Don’t forget who’s been running this place all this time! How could you?”
“Johanna, the Dawson family has always been my responsibility. I respected you as my elder before and let you handle things, but don’t get too comfortable playing the lady of the house. If you can’t bear to see Kara leave, I might have to ask you both to leave.”
ohanna was outraged. “You!”
“I’m sorry. It’s my fault.” Kara stepped forward quickly, “Ms. Dawson, I imposed myself without asking. I’ll leave right now.”
“You see, Kara, you’re just too obedient.” Then, turning to Freya with a glare, Johanna said, “Unlike someone here, who’s all sharp words and no heart!”
Freya couldn’t care less about Johanna. She instructed Sandra, “Take Ms. Orson to the hotel. Whenever she’s ready, send her home.”
“Yes, Ms. Dawson.”
Sandra approached Kara, whose face showed a mix of emotions. Despite this, she followed Sandra out.
She knew that if she didn’t leave, she might never have the chance to stay in this vibrant city again!
After watching Kara being sent off, Johanna hurried after her. “Kara, don’t worry. I promised you, and I’ll make it happen. Give me a few days, and I’ll get you into Summit University. Wait for my news.”
Kara’s eyes filled with gratitude. “Thank you, Aunt Johanna.”
After Kara left, Johanna turned back and shouted at Freya, “Since you’re too proud to charm Mr. Sutton, someone else will! And when he’s taken, I hope you won’t be too desperate!”
Freya had retreated to her room. While listening to Johanna’s shouts from downstairs, she couldn’t help but laugh. She had seen through Johanna’s intentions when she saw how Kara was dressed. But if Kieran were that easy to charm, he wouldn’t be Kieran.
Freya planned to return to school the following day, a move unheard of for her lately.
Her best friend Luna drove her, steering the wheel while asking, “Aren’t you on a break? Instead of resting at home, why torture yourself by returning to school?”
Freya said bluntly, “I have to. The company needs money.”
What? Your family’s company is short on cash, huh? If so, should mine declare bankruptcy?” Luna paused, then added, “Wait, if it’s money issues, what does school have to do with it? Since when did school start doing charity work?”
“You wouldn’t understand. You’ll see when we get there,” said Freya.
Freya had seen the school’s announcement that Ronan Beckett, the head of the Beckett Group, was invited as a guest speaker.

After they arrived at the school, Luna joined Freya in rushing to the seventh floor of the main building. Seeing Ronan had been speaking for over ten minutes, the atmosphere in the classroom was palpably intense.
Luna only peeked through the door and sighed, “This is way too academic for me… looks like we’re late.”
