When Xavier had been healthy and fine, Yvette had left him secretly. Now that he was blind, she was bold enough to tell him that she wanted to leave. He wondered if she thought he couldn’t do anything about it anymore. Yvette didn’t realize something was wrong with him as she kept her gaze down. “Didn’t we have an agreement previously? You also promised me that we could get a divorce. I don’t want to be with you.” Xavier tightened his grip again. She was in so much pain that she gasped. “It hurts.”
He immediately loosened his grip a little. “I’m not agreeing to it.”
“I can compensate you by clearing part of your debt. Think of it as compensation for the accident,” she continued. After all, he had protected her with his own body when the accident had happened. Xavier finally understood what it meant to have his heart broken.
“Who cares about the compensation?” He raised his voice and almost lost his temper.
“Then, what do you want? Tell me. As long as I can do it “
Before she could finish her words, he covered her lips with his. Yvette widened her eyes and wanted to push him away. However, she couldn’t move him at all.
After Xavier had returned home that day, he had been worried that something might happen to her. So, he’d told a bodyguard to keep an eye on her. That was how he’d learned that Jeremiah met her that day. Yvette was kissed until she had a hard time breathing. She hit his shoulder as hard as she could, and he finally let her go a little. Then, she tried to catch her breath.
“I want you,” he said with a deep voice.
Before she could react, he picked her up in his arms and took her to the bedroom. She had always been weak. Since she had been exhausting herself recently, she was no match for him at all.
She thought Xavier was being weird that day. No matter what she said, he wouldn’t stop what he was doing. He didn’t go with her flow at all.
When they were done, his shoulders were full of bite marks, and there were scratches on his back. Yvette could taste blood in her mouth as well.
She might’ve kept a lot of things on
her mind for a long time, and she vented to him that night. Xavier endured the pain and held her in his bams Then, he gently caressed her
arms.
Yvette was so tired that she
slowly fell asleep in his embrace.
When she woke up again, they were already in the car, heading back to Tirion. She looked outside the window and asked, “Where are we going?” “Back to Dewberry Manor.” He held her and said, “I’ve told someone to take Noah back first.”
She looked up at him and saw there were a few scratches on his dashing face. She felt bad and reached out. At first, she thought he would avoid her touch, but he didn’t.
“You should continue sleeping. If you’re still mad, you can continue hitting me when we get home.”
She seldom heard him say the word “home”.
She couldn’t help asking. “Xavier, do you love me?”
Xavier was stunned. “Of course. I love you a lot.”
When she heard that, she thought amnesia was amazing. It could actually make a person like someone they hated in the past. “But you hated me a lot in the past.”
Xavier didn’t know how he should explain himself. “I don’t hate you. Not at all.”
Yvette leaned against his chest and listened to his heartbeat. It turned out that it was clear when a person wasn’t in love. The same could be said when they were in love as well.
She gripped the hem of his shirt tightly. “What are you going to do about your work after we go back?”
“I’ll just look somewhere else.”
“Alright.” She nodded. “We should get something clear first. We’re only living together for now. If you betray me one day, I’m still leaving.”
