At the table behind them, Alaric had returned. Georgia spotted him and greeted him with open arms, affectionately linking her arm through his, “Alaric, are you feeling any better? Should we take you to the hospital?”
Georgia’s arm intertwined with Alaric’s, an intimate gesture that he instinctively found repulsive. He was about to shake her off when he caught sight of Hertha smiling at Spencer. Containing the urge, he didn’t push Georgia away. Instead, he teased her warmly, “Much better, thanks to your caring nature. Marrying you would surely bring me a life of bliss. Let’s sit, we shouldn’t delay discussing our wedding plans.”
