Leaving Blue Haven, Gilbert returned to the hospital, joining Francis in keeping vigil outside the room.
Sylvia didn’t want to see him, but he felt compelled to fulfill his duty of respect.
To him, from the moment he was welcomed into the Johnson family and knelt before Sylvia, calling her ‘Grandma’, she was forever his grandmother. Outside the hospital room, Francis and Gilbert sat side by side.
“Caroline and Sherilyn stopped by earlier.”

Francis glanced at his brother, remembering something, “I’ve already told Caroline about it. Sherilyn doesn’t know anything, so I didn’t mention it to her.”

Gilbert was unaware of her thoughts, taking her hand with a complex expression, hesitating to speak.
“I have something to tell you.”
Sherilyn froze, wondering what he was about to say. Was he going to break up with her? Had he finally decided to be with Caroline?
She nodded, “Okay, go ahead.”
“Grandma is sick, and… our wedding might have to be postponed.”
