Thalassa felt the firm grip of Lysander’s hand pulling her around the desk, stumbling until she found herself directly in front of him. He clutched her chin, tilting her head up to meet his piercing gaze. His eyes, seething with unspoken fury, blazed intensely.
“Always Leopold, Leopold, Leopold! You can’t stand to leave his home, can you? Wake up, Thalassa! Leopold’s gone, erased from. this world, never to return!”
Lysander’s voice was edged with anger and heavy with breath. His eyes held a storm of emotions-rage, urgency, and a barely discernible trace of helplessness.
Angry and restless because he couldn’t sway her heart.
A sharp pain stabbed through Thalassa’s chest, a burning ache that quickly spread. The physical pain at her wrist and jaw was nothing compared to the agony emanating from her heart.
The sorrow and endurance Thalassa had kept hidden were exposed by Lysander’s words. Her eyes shimmered with tears as she fiercely met his gaze, determined not to let them fall.
“How did he die, Lysander? You know better than anyone. You were there; you saw him die right before your eyes. Don’t you feel even a shred of guilt?”
Tears slipped from her eyes as her voice trembled with a low growl, her breathing ragged.
She had confronted Lysander, demanding to know why he waited until after Leopold’s death to have Sinclair Group’s PR department announce that the explosion was due to a malfunction in a smartphone produced by their subsidiary, Leossa Electronics, resulting in a billion-dollar settlement to the families.
Why did he choose to address this matter only after Leopold’s death?
And how had he responded?
He maintained this authoritative and untouchable stance, asserting that she had the audacity to question his business decisions! Indeed, she couldn’t challenge his business acumen. He was the golden boy, a commercial prodigy. His business decisions were undeniably correct! However, they were also exceedingly ruthless to the point where even the life of his own nephew couldn’t outweigh considerations of profits and business strategy!
Leopold had died because of the explosion, driven to his end by Lysander.
In her saner moments, Thalassa could silently endure, planning to get close to Lysander, waiting for him to let his guard down so she could escape with the children.

accusations.
Lysander’s eyes turned colder, like the depths of the ocean, as if the tempest within could engulf Thalassa whole.
“What did you say? Guilt? Listen to me, Thalassa, I, Lysander Sinclair, will never feel guilt toward anyone! If Leopold’s still occupying your heart, I have ways to drive him out!”
