Chapter 213 Patient
+5 Pearis
For the past three years, Nathaniel had invested a lot of money in Saeville. His illness would have an impact on the follow–up work. Things would be bad if he stopped investing! Apparently, all the visitors coming to see Nathaniel were panicking as they wandered around aimlessly.
Soon, everyone left Nathaniel’s ward as Taylor lef Freya and the others in. The first people to enter his ward were Ms. Lovett and Higgins, as Freya followed behind. She glanced at the sign of this ward, which showed that this was a normal ward, not an ICU ward. This showed that his condition was under control and he was warded there for recovery.
Ms. Lovett could not hold her tears back. Looking at Nathaniel in bed, she held his arm and cried. She worked as a maid for a long time in the Morgan family. Apparently, Mrs. Morgan had given her some money and wanted her to return home when the Morgan family lost their power. Mrs. Morgan had also left the country with her son soon after that. Ms. Lovett thought that Mrs. Morgan had fired her, but she only realized she misunderstood her after Nathaniel asked her to
return.
Ms. Lovett was Nathaniel’s caretaker when he was young. She was not married and could not give birth, so she treated Nathaniel like her own son. She could not bear seeing him lying weakly on the bed. His fingers were all bandaged with medicine. Nathaniel felt awkward after seeing her reaction and just when he was about to pat her shoulders, his hand froze after realizing Freya was standing behind Ms. Lovett. He did not expect her to visit him, and he felt extremely guilty looking at her then.

Higgins nudged Ms. Lovett, signaling to her to stop crying. Both of them went out of the ward. Before they left, they asked Freya to look after Nathaniel.
Freya was not good at taking care of people. But the both of them were trying to create an opportunity for them to reconcile. They closed the door behind them. Freya took a deep breath, and glanced at Nathaniel. He was once a ruthless man. At this moment, his face looked pale, which made his features look more defined. She felt uncomfortable under his stare, so she walked up to him and simply took a cup of water from the table and said, “Do you want some water?”
He was surprised, but he forced himself up to take the cup. “Thank you!”  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
He glanced at the fruit baskets on the table after taking the cup. There were fruit baskets everywhere; it seemed like Koen had not had the time to settle them.
“I want to eat some apples,” he said, licking his dried lips.
Freya did not know what to do then. Ever since she got out of jail, the two of them had been quite awkward with each other. They were biting each other’s tails, wanting to hurt each other badly. She felt that Nathaniel was abnormal talking like this; she had goosebumps hearing his words. It seemed like he was trying to get her attention with this excuse.
She reached for the apple, planning to peel it, only to realize that her left hand had no strength.

“I’ll do it!” Nathaniel leaned over to grab the apple from her hand. He easily peeled the apple as if he were not a patient.
