The boy was tall and thin, yet his voice rang out clearly, “Ms. Thorne, what type of guy do you like?”
“Wow! A live confession!”
“Which class does this brave soul belong to?”
“I think it’s Joseph Sanford from the school basketball team…
“Ah, I see!”
Lysander furrowed her brow slightly. She took the microphone back from the host and replied, “Honestly,
I’m not sure.”
This answer didn’t satisfy Joseph. He grinned, showing a set of white teeth. “What do you think about me?”
Noah didn’t expect Josiah to witness such a scene right after sitting down. Tugging at his remaining hair, he explained, “Mr. Guerra, our school’s atmosphere is usually very disciplined, and the academic focus is strong. Today, it’s just because of the school anniversary that everyone is a bit more relaxed…”
Josiah didn’t turn his head, still looking expressionlessly at the stage. “What’s that student’s name?”
“Ah?” Noah quickly answered, “His name is Joseph Sanford. He’s a senior at our school and an outstanding athlete, particularly in basketball. He’s even a state representative.”
Josiah nodded slightly. “I see.”

“This boy is very outgoing and gets along well with everyone. Actually, if it weren’t for the age gap, 1 personality would complement Lysander’s quite well. One is introverted, the other is extroverted. But alas. the age difference is too great.”
As soon as Noah finished speaking, Joseph cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted toward the stage, “Ms. Thorne, I may be young, but I’m in great shape!”
-As soon as these words were spoken, the whole place immediately erupted into chaos.
Even the host blushed slightly, trying to smooth things over, “This student really knows how to joke. Well Ms. Thorne, thank you for your speech. You can rest now.”
Lysander politely nodded. “Okay.”
As soon as she stepped off the stage, she sighed in relief.
Today’s kids were bolder than hér generation.
Daphne waved. “Lysander, over here!”

She walked over to sit next to Daphne, right behind Josiah.

Noah called out. “Lysander.”
Lysander turned around. “Mr. Calderon.”
“Allow me to introduce you to Mr. Guerra from Guerra Group, who plans to establish a scholarship fund for our school to help more underprivileged students achieve their college dreams.”
Lysander looked up, meeting Josiah’s gaze.
He was looking right at her.
Bracing herself, Lysander greeted, “Hello, Mr. Guerra.”
“Hello, Ms. Thorne.”
“Mr. Calderon, I don’t recall you mentioning before about the school setting up any kind of scholarship?”
“Actually, we’ve been preparing it for a long time but couldn’t find an investor. When I approached Guerra Group, I didn’t have much hope, but Mr. Guerra showed great interest in the project and even took time to attend our anniversary celebration!”
Noah then began to introduce Lysander to Josiah.
“Mr. Guerra, this is Lysander, my most accomplished student. Among the alumni who attended today’s event, she is certainly one of the most outstanding. Not only is she hardworking, but she also has an exceptional character. The only shortcoming is that her personal life hasn’t been quite smooth. I can’t understand who could be so blind as to let her down.”
Josiah responded, “She won’t be let down anymore.”
The form teacher accompanying Noah took Josiah’s seemingly out–of–context statement as a blessing and agreed, “Absolutely, Lysander is so outstanding; she deserves happiness. My nephew used to be her
sq classmate, and he’s now teaching at our school. Maybe I could introduce them.”
Daphne perked up. “Mr. Owen,/is your nephew Simon Wilcox?”
“Yes, from the same year as you.”

Owen waved his hand dismissively. “He’s not chubby anymore. Now he’s lean and tall, incredibly handsome.”
“Really? Then we must introduce him to Lysander!”

Josiah’s expression darkened, “He was a classmate of Ms. Thorne? What subject does he teach?”
“Physics,” replied Owen.
“What are his career advancement prospects?”
Owen was taken aback. “Career advancement? If he continues teaching, it would be through recognition, becoming a municipal level excellent teacher, then a state level excellent teacher.”
“What about his income?”
“Once you’re recognized for excellence, there’s an annual subsidy,” Owen said. “Being a teacher is actually quite good. You get winter and summer breaks, and job stability. Besides, our school is a top–rated institution. The future is promising.”
Josiah lowered his gaze and chuckled. “She has more outstanding suitors around her. She might not be interested in your nephew.”
Owen felt a bit awkward, “Lysander, do you have a boyfriend?”
“No.”
“Then why did Mr. Guerra say… Wait, do you two know each other?”
Noah looked between Lysander and Josiah, struggling to understand.
Lysander remained silent. Not wanting to go too far in front of her teachers, Josiah reluctantly settled for a less direct explanation, “We have some work–related interactions.”
“Oh, I see.” Owen continued, “What a coincidence. My nephew recently divorced and has no children. I just thought they had shared experiences, which would lead to a stable relationship.”
Josiah’s expression darkened further. “Interesting. I’m also divorced.”
