“She’s been swamped lately.”
“Swamped? With what?”
“Taking acting lessons. Lots of action scenes, they’re pretty draining.”
*Really?” Samuel raised an eyebrow, impressed as always by his sister’s dedication, “Aren’t you supposed to look after her a bit more?” He did. He’d been looking out for her, holding back even. But she was so delicate, barely lasted an hour before it was too much. Samuel gazed perplexedly at the subtle amusement in Orion’s expression, as if he was lost deep in some fond memory or thought. “Forget it, counting on you is like banking on a snowstorm in July.”
For someone like him with zero experience in the love department, he bet when he was with Xan, he was just enjoying the ride, not really looking out for her.
“After the awards ceremony, I’m bringing Xan home.”
