“What did you buy all these for?”
Lysander: Just in case I need them.
“Couldn’t you have waited to buy them during the day? Did you really have to do it in the middle of the night, braving the rain?”
Lysander: I’m worried I might forget once I get busy later.
“You came to Stounia to work in a hospital, didn’t you? It’s so much easier to get medication there. You can do it any day, so there’s no need to worry about forgetting, right?”

“There’s someone at your house.”
Josiah’s tone was certain, and Lysander didn’t offer any rebuttal.
“Daphne has already returned home. I asstame you don’t have any relatives or friends here either, so who is that? Your roommate? Or a colleague from the hospital?”
Lysander kept mum.
Noticing the tension between the two, Miles chimed in. “Josiah, if there’s something you need discuss, it can wait until you get home. It’s quite chilly tonight, and your wife is lightly dressed wouldn’t be good if she catches a cold.”
Josiah gazed at her. “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”
Lysander shook her head, refusing his offer.
“In that case, how are you going back?”
Lysander: I’ll walk.
“It’s pouring outside,” said Josiah. “Since it’s within walking distance, it means you live close by. As for residential areas around here… Miles, where is the nearest residential area?”
Miles said, “It’s not far from here, but it’s a mansion neighborhood that’s been around for a while.”
Josiah turned around, asking her, “Did you rent a mansion there? Does it belong to the Everhart
family?”

Miles watched with great interest, even playfully patting Josiah’s shoulder. “Who would have thought that you would have a day like this.”
Josiah ignored him, taking Lysander’s hand firmly. “Let’s go home first.”
However, Lysander was unwilling. She stood where she was, not wanting to budge.
Josiah Guerra then spoke in a cold, detached tone. “You have three options. Either you go or I rent a room, or you stay here tonight. Choose one”

Before she could finish typing, Josiah had already scopped her up in his arms and started walking out. “Miles, get the car ready.”
“Oh, alright.”
Josiah helped her into the back seat, then slid in beside her.
“Josiah, where are we going?”
Josiah looked toward Lysander, allowing her to choose.
Lysander pursed her lips, turning her face away to avoid looking at him.
Josiah stated plainly, “Find a hotel nearby.”
Instantly, Lysander whipped her head around, glaring at him.
Josiah chuckled lightly. “Don’t feel like going to a hotel?”
Lysander cominued to stare at him.
“Miles, let’s head to that mansion neighborhood you just mentioned.”
“Alright.”
